I could listen to Al all day and more. One of the greatest teachers and storytellers in our industry. Thank you for your dedication to the sport and your generosity in sharing your wisdom and experience!
people in Northern eurasia has been fishing for massive pikes without spending all this stupid It's sad to see how capitalism single handedly turn recreational fishing into super duper expensive hobby I mean JUST LOOK AT HOW folks in US literally havin like a dozen or two rods for LMB alone!!! Wtf!?? I get that US has one of the highish quailty of living and whatnot, and the nice income plus the advantages of USD being native currency. BUT CMOM!!! You just don't need th feed to China to get fun at fishing! I mean yes, there may be some "comfort" in using dedicated setup for respective lure/bait, but deal with it! the technical advantage you get from having dedicated rods and reel is very very tiny!! For ex. id bet either two of the fisher if we have a challenge between a same years exp. pike angler from europe VS an american in fishing pikeforms from the bank, with the former owning 2 or 3 lure fishing setups at max while later having over a dozen combos for literally every single game fish on earth! The pro would be tiny guys! Yes money spent for th sake of curiosity and fun. I get it, trying my best as someone from a country where average income for people ~100$ *a month* . Anyway i can graspe the thought process of it. Of cuz every penny spent on acquiring fun is always money will spent. But like i said earlier, this just getting to much. It doesn't even look like individuals choices anymore, more like capitalism just able to create new needs out of thin air for american people, and the people swallowed every single bits of marketing 🤦🏻♂️ Also, again, you don't hav to siphon $ to China for non existence pro Americans are exploited to the teeth. That's so obvious .. As clear as day
You should have measued them, weighed them, and counted them and had a good ol competition instead of just landing one fish after another with no goal other than just having fun. Maybe put a few 20s on the table too! 😂😂
Natural, works better in some conditions, But yes, color's. Our a factor, and guessing game, Al, just Good, like his sensational, staff, and family. Praise God,
Jim, you need to come over to Flathead Lake. We fish whities july through september we use coffin jigs called the whitefish slayer. Then in then late fall we fish them in the river during there spawn using the whitefish slayer or a green ball head jig with a green plastic in 1/8th to 1/4oz size with a #2 arbedeen hook.
LMAO......Don't tell me let me guess. Al and Dan just happened to be using their major 6 or 7 digit Sponsor's Rapala baits? Golly gee Whiz, I'm so impressed on that financial coincidence. Ask Al what he charged this Fishing Lodge to come and do this TV show? Contour trolling is so yesterday that it would make Lyndon Johnson and John F. Kennedy proud. Then we will get the TV sermon on how Jesus helped along with the financial promotional of all of Al's sponsors. This promotional fishing crap mixed with personal religious doctrine is starting to wear thin on me. I talked to Jesus last night and he told me a Bomber 24H, Lindy #5/#7 Shadling or a Berkely Flicker Minnow,/Shad will achieve the same results but will NOT enrich Al's bank account.
Hey guys! I know this video was posted a while ago but I just wanted to say I just got back from my yearly trip to Quetico with my dad! We canoed all up and down Basswood Lake and then we heard from our boater that was dropping us off that you guys and your crew like taking off out of William and Hall and going to Cigar Island for big smallmouth! We headed over there and caught some hogs! Great video!
Al, I just bought a lund pro v bass 2075 xs. May be the first one in Alabama. It was because of you and your brother. I knew you wouldn't ever endorsea boat that wasn't the best in class. I have enjoyed watching you for years.
Recently got a supply of the smallest jigging raps to use for panfish. Any suggestions you may have about strategy and how to use these would be greatly appreciated. Fish them the same as the larger sizes? Could a small split shot be added in deeper water? Thanks much.
I laugh every time I hear someone say that forward facing sonar (FFS) revealed fish that no knew existed out in deep water. I say that Buck Perry told us that 75 years ago. In his book "Spoonplugging " he tells us how fish spend most of their time offshore and how to find the fish on offshore structure. Now instead of trolling spoonplugs you can use FFS to spotlight them. Not as much fun as trolling or casting to find them though.
My absolute hero. I met you once 14 years ago when I was just a boy, and literally she'd a tear when I got to shake your hand. If I ever got to fish with you I'd probably die. Keep doing what you do AL. No one will ever be able to hold a match to what you've done for the industry and the world of fishing.
Here in Sweden, our jerkbaits are spoon/lipless, therefore it's by twitching home the bait you get the lure to move. So therefore this question about suspending, slow sink and sink is very important but confusing for people. I found out that I fish mostly slow sink-sink and I can control the depth by basically choosing the time of reeling in the bait. If I start cranking the handle and pulling in the line just after the lure touches the water I get the lure to be very shallow and if I wait then it goes deeper, however with my suspending lures, I cannot control the lure the same way, if I want it to go deeper I have to put a weight on them etc. However I really love the American way of Jerkbaits where you got a spoon/lip on them, im going to give it a shot. Very nice video, thank you, short and straight to the point.
As a church pastor, an avid fisherman and content creator, I really appreciated this entire video. I came for the hair jigs and got the Word too! God bless you guys
There is still a stronghold of spoonpluggers across the country. @jerrylangous7892 We'd love to see the list of Buck's false information you have for us
Yes, I am old enough to remember Buck Perry and his spoon plug! Wow I haven't heard anybody talk about that in a really long time. Al Linder is one of the greatest of all time too. 👍🎣🇺🇸
@eguyntx1812 Me too. I still have a copy of Buck's book. I'm pretty sure it's the same person, I had a discussion about Buck with the other person who replied, and that conversation didn't go very well.
Love the shout out to the father of modern-day fishing, Buck Perry! There's still a few of us out there that follow his teachings! You're one of the very few that mention him throughout the years, thank you!
I have exported my waypoints to an SD card from my Helix. I am trying to transfer them to my Solix on my new boat. I have a Mac and humminbirdpc is not Mac compatible. Any ideas?
Great video! I'm a beginner and I noticed you don't use a bobber in this video. Can you please explain your technique and how you fish without a bobber? Thank you.
