Just had posterior. Everything going well at 7 weeks. Great surgery. Want to point out one precaution that I think is Bull Crap. "Crossing the unaffected leg over the effected leg. NO? I don't think so. It has nothing ergonomically connected to the surgery. The affected leg remains completely straight and the unaffected leg simply crosses over the ankle of the affected leg for comfort. It does nothing. No issues for me. But they sold me on a major NO NO to do that. Have to say again, it's just me. I did it. No problems.

Thanks Arno !! I love all of these. As a therapist with ADHD I wanted to add a few extra tips that helped me: body-doubling !! Which meant definitely having a study partner to study with and beside. I also got myself to the same coffee shop 3 days a week for 4 weeks, as the activity around me helped serve as another type of body doubling (helped me not to stop studying). Also I primarily focussed on the TherapyEd book as my primary resource, and highlighted sections after I went through them, to help me identify materials I already touched (decreased the cognitive load needed to figure out where to pick up). I also made sure not to make flash cards for EVERYTHING- just the memorizable data bytes

I would highly recommend the books mentioned in the interview and any of Carlyn’s content. ACT is one of the great psychological approaches/ tools that OTs can use to help people take action towards occupational goals.

Small correction, to determine between AIS C vs D you only consider the muscles below the Neurological Level of Impairment (which is the lowest level with normal sensation and at least a 3/5 strength with all 5/5 above bilaterally). For example, if the NLI is at C8 then only 3 of the remaining 6 myotomes must have 3/5 strength in order to be considered AIS-D.
