So nice to hear your thoughts on the Pickle, one of my favourite monsters. I still remember my first encounter with Devil Jho in MH4U. I was hunting a Congala and carted, then when going back, I saw something far in the distance but ignored it as just some small monster. Then, I started beating Congalala again and then I noticed that the music had changed, instants after Devil Jho attacked me and the Congalala. I think I gave two more hits to the Congala while panicking, ending the quest, and completely forgetting to carve due to shock 😅.
Primordial Malzeno is the best fight for me but I've played only World and Rise Loved Rise just because of the cool monster fights like Malzeno and Gore Magala
Guess I'm old, and I don't care for any of the themes in MHW, I feel like the music in that game is really subpar from a monster theme standpoint at least. But yea I only managed to get Astalos and Deviljho. They got to the Gajalaka and I could have sworn that was the great jaggi/baggi/wroggi theme from 3rd gen but maybe their theme is a remix. Honestly getting the hint that the monster only appeared in world and then immediately shouting Brachydios wanted to make me punch him like a Brachydios lol. Not to mention Brachy's theme is better than all the themes on this list.
I understand Velkhana in F…but Primordial Malzeno???? That fight literally embodies all the little things you complaining about what Magnamalo should’ve been. As a long sword user that was definitely a sword dance from start to finish, S tier.
... Lagiacrus looks really cool, but his moveset is 70% Royal Ludroth and it's super disappointing. There, I said it! Also, the nostalgia goes hard in this tier list. Sorry, also had to be said.
Indeed, I did. I don’t exactly oppose underwater combat, if they can make it more fluid, I would like it back. But underwater levels in games are rarely well done. At least there’s a decent amount of fans of it.
I would argue it is not quality of life. Moving while drinking a potion and sharpening, specially on your palamute in Rise directly affects game balance and difficulty. I still mix the flex too!
Upset by Nergigantes placement. Maybe I am biased since MHW is my first and only MH Game so far but I get it. But at the same time Arch Tempered Nergigante is easily one of the best fights of all time. The difference between regular and AT Nergigante is night and day. AT Nergigante doesn't let you breathe for shit and is constantly jumping around. It feels like you're playing a super dramatic wrestling match with a Dragon. It's such a shame the Master Rank equivalent is nowhere near as good either. Ruiner Nergigante was even more underwhelming. The only hard part was how much faster Ruiner Nergigante got the longer the fight lasted. But so many of its attacks just felt smaller than regular Nergigantes. So no matter how fast it got you were never really in danger unless you got complacent. Tempered Ruiner wasn't much stronger either.
@@Ethan-ib5hk seregios is the only one here i haven't actually fought (at least the mh4u version) since i didn't do any of the seregios urgent quests, but i thought the mh4u version would be better since they took the already mid velkhana and made it worse in rise rath cant be a D since he's an absolute og (i hate his mhw fight with a passion though) and i hate tigrex cuz his one gimmick is that he can stunlock, which is why i think he deserves b tier
@@adhipanb.iniyan5074 base Rathalos is OG and iconic but I have always found Azure Rathalos to be just a massive pain in every generation honestly… and Tigrex idk I understand why the consensus is he sucks but for whatever reason I really enjoy him and have done since FU, I think maybe because he’s so simple and easy to read and doesn’t have any bs like paralysis or fire breath or something I enjoy that purely physical fight. saying that, Molten Tigrex was SUCH a fun fight for me in 4U…
@@Ethan-ib5hk i love fast monsters like nargacuga, barioth and kirin, they become more like a dance once you get their tempo, but tigrex is such a pain in the ass witch its damn screech, i never found tigrex fun, be it brute tigrex, or grimclaw tigrex (especially grimclaw)
Vaal'Hazak s such a good monster and fight. It forces you to actually work on your build. While most other monsters you can just wing'em with the same build no matter what. Another key point to the Safi theme is the heartbeat. The singing is already a giveaway that it is a big baddie, but the heartbeat is exclusive to Safi.
He and black veil are my most hunted monster to date and I still have to fight namiele. Been trying to clear my optionals to a red clear before I attack namiele. His set makes restoration and tanking so easy.
For me, everyone is at S with the exception of Azure and Kushala. A variant should never be a flagship, so Azure would be pretty low for me. Kushala at A or B.
When i rank monsters i personally go off the fight, the design, armor design and skills and weapons. I hold Rathalos in high regards for the design and consistant good armor. As a GS main though im bias to Velkhana. Top 3 for me are Rathalos, Gore Magala and Velkhana. Tbh all of them are top monsters though even Kushala (in Rise only lol) Kushala in Rise is actually very fun but in any other game hes so annoying. My problem with Nergi is that his fight is so boring hes a complete push over. His design is amazing his lore is amazing his weapons are great and ok armor but he can just be bullied so so easy.
I didn't do well on the World themes, but certain monster themes, like Astalos, I could recognize instantly! The repetitive chord progression in the beginning is very recognizable imo.
Didn't Capcom already confirm they won't be bringing that mechanic back forever ago and then when they talked about underwater travel they said that no fights would occur underwater in Wilds? I wouldn't be for or against it but I'm pretty sure they confirmed it won't be returning basically ever
@BigBoi-bq2pr I never heard anything about that, but if it's true, that's unfortunate. The game's still gonna be a banger, I'm just tired of hearing that underwater combat was a bad game mechanic when it was intentionally clunky in order to make you feel uncomfortable while fighting a monster in its own element.
@hugo-pg5tv What's the record this person holds? If it isn't anything related to the underwater combat mechanics or even monster hunter in general, then I'd stick to my prior claims.
@@jasonteague1313 bruh it was a question. Would u still claim it to be a skill issue if someone with a world record time on a hunt with underwater combat called it dogshit?
I actually do agree that Velkhana doesn’t have any part break incentive but I also kinda like that weirdly enough, fighting her feels like a duel where both parties are always at their peak (plz note I typically fight her as a GS user) The tail hitbox is crazy though and I do get hit by it still.
I've only recently got a method to play mhw so half the songs being from world really stumped me... Was hoping more would be from older gen monsters World mon Bazil -3 World mon Nergi -3 World mon Astalos -3 World mon Great Maccao -3 Deviljho -3 world mon
I think Rathalos should never be higher than D Tier, when it comes to fights. I will agree with the Velkhana fight, its just pure stupidity and the hitboxes are so stupid, but the design itself is pretty nice. Also i dont think Namielle is more Kushala than Velkhana, Velkhana is its own thing, the body structure is way longer and more slim than the others.
Vaal was literally me as a healler with Geralt's set lol. I don't know how many times I've saved my team from passing out because of effluvia. SnS healler is OP. lol
