This is the story of the United States of America -- a story of imperfect people who stumbled their way to independence. From the French and Indian War to the Declaration of Independence to the Battle of Yorktown, we'll cover the key moments and key leaders of the American Revolution.
I'm not a historian. I'm just a random dude telling a pretty amazing story, my way. My goal is not to help you memorize a bunch of names and dates. That's boring. My goal is to have some fun and tell one of the greatest stories ever told. I hope I do it justice.
Am a blood line descendant of Benjamin and couldn’t be more proud of that. Can mabye tell by my RU-vid pic but I take after him am why I’m really interested in the man and why I’m here lol
I love watching your videos. I’ve rewatched them every few weeks. Makes me so much more proud to be a part of a group of ppl so sophisticated and brave but also head strong in the fact that if you as a man believe in something so strong, You can’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
I enjoyed your video, Brudda! Congress sure did create many problems during the revolution. The General who won Saratoga was Benedict Arnold, without him this country might not exist. Congress did more to turn Benedict with every slight than the crown ever could 🤙🏻.
Thomas Jefferson drafted Thomas Paine to write The American Declaration of Independence. According to computer analysis conducted by The University of Aberdeen Paine wrote 97% and Jefferson <2%. Only the man who wrote "Common Sense" was enough of a fire brand to ignite the spirits of our fledgling Nation. Paine also gave a death bed confession that he was indeed the true author. Perhaps the fact that he wasn't a landed gentry was the reason his name was not used. But the facts remain he was its true author.
Interesting getting this from the POV of Franklin and his involvement, thanks :) It was my understanding that part of the tea party issue was around the tea quality. They were sending the best tea to England and sending the colonists low quality tea with a lot of stems. Effectively, the East India Tea Company was profiteering on the colonies and giving a kickback to King George! I can't remember where I read it, may have been Lies My Teacher Told Me. But it indicates the issue was bigger than just taxes.

Thanks, @Mauricio. I appreciate the support and suggestion. I’ll try to change the titles to reflect chronological order. Maybe also create a playlist. Thanks again!
