I can't think of 1 scene in this OUTSTANDING MASTERPIECE of a film that's NOT ENJOYABLE. The whole movie is ICONIC. Truly timeless. My most FAVORITE movie PERIOD. Who could forget John Travolta dancing with Uma Thurman in the 50's resteraunt?!?!?!?! One of the most FAMOUS scenes in the last century of movies.
In retrospect you can get why Wallace was saying “fuck pride” when it came to losing a fight. At the end of the day it’s just business, but in context to Butch and his heritage it definitely was the biggest insult to him.
The fact that Vincent knew about his boss Marsellus setting up the throw fight after making that comment to Butch made Butch think twice about his upcoming match which led to his betrayal and Vincent's Demise.
Look, this was the iniquity of your sister SODOM: She and her daughter had PRIDE, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit. - Ezekiel 16:49-50

The speech of M. Wallace is applicable to everyone's life... a dilemma between pride (your mind thinking you can/should do more) and reality (your mind saying enough).
Notice how Marsellus has a plaster on the back of his neck? In the Bible it says that if you make a Faustian pact with the devil and lose he removes your soul by making a single cut in the back of your neck - it is Marsellus’ soul in the briefcase that Jules and Vincent retrieve from Brett’s apartment. Brett and his pal are the devil’s people, Marcellus wants his soul back. The combination of the briefcase is 666, the devil’s number, you see this when Vincent opens the case in the apartment.
Butch did wrong! Butch took the money and lied like a prideful punk. All he had do to was turn down the money. He took the settlement money. Step aside, Butch! I tell you what about You & Me! There is NO You and Me! You lost all your LA privileges.
Trantino is a genius like seriously alot of things happen after Jules leaves But you realize that there is alot of messed up stuff happen before that too.
I think another part that sticks out is how the bartender charged him for the cigs, $1.40. If he was well respected, and IN with the boss, why not just give him the cigs? He gives Jules a beer doesn't charge him, he could have a tap but it seems unlikely.
I don't know why, but when I saw this part in the theater as a kid I was crackin' up, and I was the only one in the whole theater laughing. Just the way Marcellus curses is funny.
