thats a freakin yellow jacket. do not help those. it's not a nice honeybee which i find always drinking out of my hummingbird feeders and sometimes have to rescue one who got stuck in the bird bath in the morning before a bird comes and eats them up. but yellow jacket? get outta here that aint cute.
You didn’t empty the water tank. Now that’s a display of confidence in yourself. 😁 Btw: Aren’t these machines as beautiful on the inside as on the outside? 👌
Do I hear it correctly in the background: “Wil je een kopje koffie? Komt eraan!” (Would you like a cup of coffee? Coming up!) How’s that possible when you’re changing the EPDM group gasket?😉
Wide open window, people chatting outside ;-) Also a neighbour (elderly like me) who always greets me when he walks by with his dog, calling "goedemiddag!" -- everyday we celebrate that we got one more day to live & enjoy ;-)
@@palefire I later realised that your camera (or phone?) must have an automatic sensitivity system for the microphone so background noises are amplified whenever you’re quiet. I quite like the effect tbh!
yes indeed. That and the wide open window works well. With windows closed i’dcbe recording my breathing and the effect would be like a ‘hijger’ with an espresso fetish 😂😂😂
Of all the things God made through Jesus, I've always thought insects were the most bad A. They've got weapons, armor, sensors, man so cool 😎 thanks for uploading
With the Vectis is it recommend to do a cooling flush pre shot. That's dependant on roast style vs shot temperature. Would love the LR24 but space is limited and the Vectis i can squeeze into my coffee corner vs LR24
@@ian.swift.31614 I know it can seem like that, but really they're just animals. They don't have the brain capacity for malice. It can be intimidating when they fly near but that's not always aggression! A lot of times they're just investigating. If you're calm around them, they usually just check you out and then leave. The only time I was ever stung was because I trapped one with my foot when I stepped in tall grass. Really, a completely understandable reason to sting. I'd probably do the same if I thought I was about to get squashed by a giant.
this grinder is not dry climate friendly, I gain 2 grams of retention with tapping the funnel with a rubber hammer and and another gram with swirling a soft brush inside the body of the funnel after each use. Taste is exceptional, retention is not.
Thanks. After much education, and then even more to’ing and fro’ing … I think the Vectis might be that one … for me. Now I just have to figure out grinding and puck prep. 😊
Hoi Frans! Ik heb je een e-mail gestuurd over een video van jou die op onze Supercar Blondie-pagina wordt uitgelicht! Is er een andere manier om in contact te komen? Heb je Instagram? :)
@@palefire yes of course but in your video it seems like you use the same gasket and this tripped me up and caused me to not be able to use the machine until I got the gasket, so just trying to make sure other users don't have the same issue ;-) And it's not inexpensive unfortunately as the shipping charges make it so that it's not cheap to just order this gasket for example.
@@aescripts You are right. On the other hand, I ordered an extra element incl gasket locally and that was *very* cheap. If you take the size & power info from your element and check a nearby dealer 'Bob's your uncle' ;-)
@@palefire I tried doing this and even asked Reiss where i could get this here in the US and was not able to find it :-( Please note that I am not normally flushing coffee boilers so something that might seem simple to you is not necessarily simple for everyone else. Again, I think it would really benefit other users to know that they will most likely need a new gasket when they do this :) Not sure why you are hesitant to mention this in the description, what is the down side?
@@aescripts I had not thought of adding it to the description. I thought you meant inserting it in the video and I have seen people do that but have no idea how that's done. Sure, easy to add it to the text below the video!
Hi Frans - great video! I've been looking at Londiniums for a long time. I want one very much! Your videos are the only ones informative enough on Londiniums! Does the Steam Wand get hot to touch? If it does get hot, is it possible to change into a No-Burn type? I wonder if anyone has done this modification on a Londinium before. Many thanks, Pandji
Hi Pandji! Thanks for your kind words. I never touch the metal part of the steam wand. Why would one ever want to fondle it? It's a steam wand, intended to steam milk ;-) The rubber sleeve can be used to position it correct for the milk jug, then you hold the milk jug with one hand, feeling the temp of it with the other hand and stopping the process when the jug gets too hot for comfort and you're done. Then rub it with a wet microfiber cloth while blasting a bit of steam, and it's clean. Investing in modifications there will not create better coffee for you ;-)
Hi Frans - great video! Do you see a need to put some sealing tape or Food Grade threadlocker on those treads before reinstalling? I see you only put some foodgrade lube .
The four bolts that fasten the group don't need sealant/thread locker. The nuts have a little nylon ring that prevents them spontaneously getting unscrewed/loosening.
Citric acid cleans it. In this case, if I recall correctly, we fitted a brand new element we had available anyway, for the looks. Good that you spotted it!
Very briefly, just until I saw it coloring darker. Also the basil just enough to 'scare' it. I completely forgot to rub the fish with a little salt but I did not miss the salt when I ate it.
Do you think it’s worth the job and risk for me to do this with mine? I think there is a big risk to drill and thread this with perfect precision, even though I have a bunch of Festool also 😊
Yes -- I first had one that a friend with a lathe made for me, but now Londinium have the slip-on tool in stock: londiniumespresso.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=347&search=fitment
That little tool is amazing, i’ve been using a mallet for my servicing. I enjoy lever machines but i don’t see too many these days, i own an Astoria Gloria 2grp and could spend all day taking apart and reassembling 🙏
Its a local tradition, after leaving the red light district you throw a bike into the canal as a sign to what the prostitute is -a bike- this hopefully stops your dick falling off
