Concordia is such a sleek polished game and this expansion does make you feel you are playing against a real opponent. I highly recommend this to any Concordia fan.
Nice to see you continue this. At 11:34 you made a mistake. Once there are two goblin snipers in the starting area they prevent you from engaging either of them because there is always another enemy in the staging area.
10:51 the resources for cards don't need to come from a single hero's resource pool, you just need a resource match. Gandalf's staff is neutral so you could have played it with resources from any hero
Fun playthrough! I've played the first three cycles and this is still one of my favorite quests to go back to. The only error that I noticed was that at 11:44, you can't optionally engage the Goblin Sniper when you have two Goblin Snipers in the staging area since they each have the effect saying that they can't be optionally engaged if there's another enemy in the staging area. It's a super rough combo to get since the only way to get rid of them is some sort of direct damage that can be applied to enemies in the staging area
@@slickerdrips, if your threat is high enough they will forcibly engage you. Otherwise they can only be engaged by effects that force engagements (Son of Arnor ally “leadership”) or like Shane said effects that can target enemies in the staging area. To be noted, Quick Stroke can not target the staging area.
@@slickerdrips Not until your threat hits 48 or above since enemies only engage if they are either optionally engaged or their engagement cost is greater than or equal to your current threat
You got lucky there with an easy ambush! One of the fun things about the game is the way that the decks vary from game to game, both your own deck and the encounter deck. The game does get harder! The next scenario is notoriously difficult. However, I hear that the campaign in the revised edition makes it a lot more possible. Also, just a note in case it is helpful: I have some exhaust markers I use (especially helpful with attachments) and some other tokens that show boosts to attack, defense, and questing. Really, though, using some cubes or other little tokens from a game could be helpful for tracking those things. You did very well with it, though! Hope you’re enjoying the game!
Cool to see you are getting into this one! The core set, like AH LCG, is a basic introduction. Everything gets getter as you go! Enjoy! It is one of my favorites.
Thank you for the game play as I have been considering obtaining it. How repayable are the scenarios once they are defeated as I have heard it compared to a puzzle? Is it a case of using different builds for variety or is that in the scenario itself?
Strategy tip: there is an action window after you reveal encounter cards. So you could use eowyn's ability after you've seen how many threat is added for questing. There's no need to do this before then.
My friends and I have weekly game nights and played this for the first time yesterday. We understand most of it but have some questions. Hopefully you can answer them or they will be answered as I watch these videos. Is there anything else besides monster limit in the outskirts, card/encounter/monster effects that can raise the terror track? I played with the gangster character who has the tommy gun and dynamite. I understand the dynamite. The card says to discard it after use. The tommy gun gives +6 to combat checks. The card doesn't say anything about discarding it or exhausting it. Do you just exhaust it when you use it then reactivate it during the upkeep phase? I wasn't sure if ammo or something was a thing. If you have time to help and answer these questions, thank you very much.
Thanks for the video. I own the fallout and it was hard to find the expansions ....luckily ive got them and It can be solo playable.Greetings from Greece.
I've played 4 player so far with my family, we're part way through act 2 of our second run and the one thing that has stood out from my plays and from watching yours is how quickly the start of some fights go from looking like you're about to get murdered but then you actually defeat the enemies with minimal hp loss. Looking forward to watching act 3.
Clearly it seems I will need help again. If you notice anything there let us know! 😃 If you are interested Act III is available now (without ads) if you are a Patreon supporter at: www.patreon.com/slickerdrips
33:17 Rachel exhausts Judgement but it only has the Ethereal keyword so it should be discarded since she used it. Ethereal only means exhaust the card if it is still in your hand at the end of the turn.
24:12 the Klingon subtitles say that the elite enemy should be on the far left with the summoned enemies spawned to the right of them. This is incorrect, normal enemies work this way but elite enemies work as in the video, they are always placed as the right most enemy in the bottom row.
Yikes, you are absolutely correct. My bad on that one. Thanks for pointing it out! I have removed the note from the Klingon subtitles. Really appreciate the help! 🙂
13:25 you can give money towards someone else's purchase at the shop so it would've been possible for Rachel to buy the card she wanted, it would've meant Tom wouldn't have been able to afford to remove a strike of course, sounded like you didn't know that was an option from the way you were talking.
Hello. Thanks for the video, it helps me a lot. When at 40:10 the Slinger is looking for a target with an unobstructed view and without Cover, I think it is without ANY Cover, even Partial Cover would prevent the shot, in my opinion. What do you think?
At the end of the first round there was one Automa cube on the end of goal objective and earlier you say it helps with the standing, but then it disappears when you're counting the end of round objective and you ended it with a tie. Should the cube have acted as a point, so the Automa won? At the end of my first round there were 4 cubes on the first objective and we bad tied on the duet board - so I went to assume Automa had won the goal. Could you confirm the cubes on those goals at end of round and whether I was xorrect?
The player sheets are dry wipe but the stickers aren’t reusable, you could use post its if you really wanted to reuse everything but levelling up one set of characters will take loads of games
Hey guys, great run. Just a heads up at 10:11 , the devs confirmed end of turn actions happen in the order the players choose. So in this case, the watcher doesn't take wrath damage if the lightning orb kills the final enemy and ends the combat.
very cool to see some co-op play, looking forward to act 2. Sorry if I'm incorrect but doesn't the watcher curse 'stay in hand' once drawn, effectively reducing hand size to 4, until it's discarded?
I don’t think that’s a worry, just looking at the first page of most wanted Essen games 18 out of 25 are original with 7 expansions and reimplementations, and of those they could be revamped new editions (Kraftwagen) to mostly new games using a system from another (Black Forest), plenty of creativity 🙂
FYI for anyone who stumbles across this, there is an unofficial solo variant on BGG. Just search Gingkogawa solo mode. It still uses the same solo deck and retains a lot of the rules, but streamlines it and makes it much less swingy (the AI will never get double actions unless you play on hard). It's a massive improvement and makes this one of my favourite solo games. Hope this helps someone :)
At 20:55, you mention that the AI will break the tie based on the era priority on the guild card. But for a performance (where they're already placing a token in the orchestra based on era), wouldn't they break the tie based on instrument type priority on the guild card instead? When placing a repair token, I would think in that case, they'd break a tie based on era since they're restricted to placing based on instrument type already.
Went down a Roll/Flip n Write rabbit hole after seeing you demo Koala Rescue Club... just watched you play two games of Hadrian's Wall and it no longer seems so ominous. Will be giving this one a go on BGA! Thank you for an excellent video and tutorial 😊
You forgot to advance Doom by one (1:38) and I believe it should have advanced later when another character gets taken out. Could be crucial! Such a lot to remember in this game!
The first one is mention in the Klingon subtitles at 2:23. If you have a timestamp for the other one I will check it out and add a note if needed. Thanks!!
