It's better than you'd first think. I wasn't sold on it first time when I tried it early last year but tried it again recently and actually really enjoyed It!
@@bundjohn aye, I think I'd have enjoyed Dragons Dream back in the day but alas, not for the West! Tryrush Deppy needs to be played to be believed, it wasn't apparent in the vid but lots of hidden stuff and fun animations, tough though! Thanks for watching!
Def a list that shows the variety on Saturn - or specifically, the extra variety available in Japan! I keep trying that ‘side scrolling action action’ (whose name I won’t even try to remember or right!!) but can’t get the hang of it - it feels like if I did it’d be good! Tryrush Deppy I couldn’t stand ngl - it feels like something someone would do for an a level game programming case study… I do like the style of choro q and I’ve heard people was lyrical about it but it felt a bit stodgy… another I keep trying tho as feels like there’s something else there! Gonna have to try the others as hadn’t seen em before! Well, maybe not the Digimon one 😂
@@Gaming_For_Ages hah yes the Digimon one is an acquired taste. I love the franchise but it's probably the weakest Digimon game. Shinrei Jusatsushi Toromaru is great fun once you work out button mash shooting and how to dash. This footage was taken from one playthrough where I almost completed it! Choro Q Park and Tryrush Deppy are definitely fun but not going to be best in genre (Deppy has lots of hidden stuff to find but the bosses are brutally tough) Elan Doree is a good laugh. What did you think of the look at Dragons Dream? (And thanks for watching!)
@@Gaming_For_Ages it only has the debug battle because it's f Bo Bayles bypassing the initial logon and then enabling it on the menu. It's a bit cut down as you can't kill the enemy or die and abilities don't work on them but you can "force" a win. Plus looking through the classes and races on offer was helpful to see what the game may have been like. As I said in the vid, an oddity to show off rather than a full game to play
What a great way to announce the scores for the MD challenge! Great to hear about other people's channels and what they are all about as well as the scores they've posted. Thanks for the plug of my channel too mate, much appreciated. Onto the next challenge!
@@subliminalvcrthat's what this one set out to do, to bring to notice other great channels as well as.announce the scores given there was just so many 😂 Thanks for taking part pal and looking forward to the next one!
@@subliminalvcr I'm not fussed on how things review, I think it's a fun little game to play and I had it to hand when I had little time to pick when I knew it would work from a score perspective!
@@TheRetroMartin For me, bad reviews have always stuck with me on games from my childhood. I suppose me and so many others back then depending on magazine reviews to give us the confidence to shell out a small fortune on games. Will give this a go for the challenge mate and report back. 😎👍
@@subliminalvcr yeah I can understand that. It's all I had to go on as well was comics and mags but I saw some iffy reviews and the game actually turned out quite good in some cases so I've always taken them with a pinch of salt. Plus I didn't really get a say in what I got for the MegaDrive as it was rare I had enough pocket money to get my own!
@@TheRetroMartin just finished my run. If you want video evidence I have it. Mid tier I'm afraid. But, what a run 👍 my retro Martin score is...... 649200 (appreciate this has finished but I am always late to the party 😂)
@@TheRetroMartin Thanks for your nice words, dear Martin! That video about Heretic, is like a raw version of what I had in my mind! Soon I'll create more and better content!
My run must of been bad you forgot about it 🤣🤣🤣 there's some absolute belting scores there mart buddy 😄 I still can't believe I lost to chunners, that still does my head in 😂
@@steve36207 oh sorry mate, I don't know why I don't have a screenshot of your score anywhere! Great effort anyway. These vid ones won't be permanent so it'll be easier to amend any missed ones in future!
@@johnnybeard cheers for taking part mate. I wanted this to be dual purpose so I could hopefully throw some traffic at people as well as do the scores!
Need to give this a go when I dig the Saturn out in the near future. Amazing soundtrack but does chug along a bit graphically compared to the PS1. Might run better at 60hz though…
Great effort there mart buddy 😄👊 you beat me by 1 second 😂 your last lap was exactly the same time as my fastest lap on my go 😂😂 nothing wrong with using the walls to slow down bud 😂
@@bundjohn I got squadrons quite a while back. I really enjoyed the campaign and the online multiplayer wasn't too bad either! First time trying it in VR though
@@subliminalvcr yes, I've done a vid on that too which should be before this one. Fun little short mission. I'm an empire guy though so I prefer Squadrons being able to use TIE series ships
If I do too much VR I'll have to join you and become Martin goes blind gaming 😂 Just figured I'd get some in and make shorter or easier longer vids because sometimes people just want gameplay 😂
@@TheRetroMartin You plans tmfor making videos sound great, I hope you know I hold the copy right for Goes Blind Gaming, So if you use it you have to pay me and it doesn't come cheap Ha ha ha
This is such a cute fun game Martin, 8 looks more like a Nintendo game than a playstation one, Well If Nintendo could do good graphics 😂 My son was playing the new one at his friend's house the other day And informed me this is another reason we need to get a PS5 😂 Well plague mate
Very cool dude, some nice stuff in there! I’ve always wanted to try Tempo and those Gundam games but never gotten around to them. What a mistakea to makea! These days I’m mainly playing Saturn so I think I need to correct that soon, they look very cool. Great video mate, it’s always nice to be nudged towards some awesome games so these kinda vids are very handy, nice one!
@@BloggosPow the 32x one I'd say is actually brilliant and really pushes the machine. Even the Gamegear one isn't a bad platformer either. Cheers for watching
Brill video dude - love seeing those! I was a click away from getting a densha de go controller in that big Japan order in the summer - they’re seemingly quite common if you happen to be shopping in Tokyo rather than Milton Keynes… but in the end my curiosity was outweighed by fear of the gf’s rage at the lack of space 😂😂😂 will look forward to part two of this!! - bedgell
@@Gaming_For_Ages cheers mate. Yeah I'll probably try and grab one of the DDG controllers whenever I do a Japan order. I've leeched onto other people's orders before as well to get stuff as I go 😂 Next one should be another range, I'm trying to hit loads of different genres to really show off the variety on the platform!
The 3 button pad is criminal haha jokes aside this is a great challenge, I will take part when I get the chance for sure :) Great challenge for a great game look forward to it :)
Street Fighter 2……this game seems to be following me, that or it’s popular in gaming culture 😂 I don’t own this version as I have Super Street Fighter 2. Which MD mini is this on?
@@bundjohn no it didn't but obviously you can mix the pads and the mini 2 pad has the additional menu button on the shoulder also making it a great pad
@@sweetradishgaming survive is a decent one. Combo visual novel and strat RPG. Its in its own subseries rather than the World or Story subseries. I bet you'd enjoy Digimon Story Cybersleuth (Switch, Steam, PS4). More of an ordinary chapter based RPG without the raising virtual pet stuff.
Nice one dude, amazing game! I’ve just had a couple of warm up games, been a little while since I’ve played but it seems to be coming back to me fairly well. How long you run the competition for mate?
@@dibbsgaming it's almost always 2 weeks though this is a day shorter as it was delayed though that shouldn't be an issue as it's short enough to do a run. Looking forward to your entry!
What a game and what a port. Arguably saved the Mega Drive in the UK and kept it going until the mid 90s as the gaming press were utterly obsessed with the SNES and its port of SF2. Another great challenge which I will partake in shortly! ✌️
What do you mean you can use a 6 button pad, Raza Has told me on multiple occasions that such a thing does not exist For the mega drive Genesis 😂😂😂 I wonder which kind of mad man will attempt to play this with 3 buttons, That's what I had to do back in a day and it wasn't easy 😂 Great game and great challenge I look forward to seeing people doing this one, I'm not even gonna pretend and tell you IM giving this a go As I still plan to do the sonic one You chose like 5 challenges ago 😂😂😂
@@TheRetroMartin No stress mate, To be honest I get excited every time Somebody posts a challenge whether that be you, Raza, Steve Juffer Or anyone else And I want to take part in them all But work and my family hate me And steal all my time Ha ha, I only get to watch or listen to RU-vid because I can do that at work , If only I could Game there Ha ha
