I had a 76 in 1980. Loved the style but couldn't get out of its own way. I purchased a 77 twenty years ago. Still have it. Labor of love. 383 stroker 480 HP 482 TQ. 700-R-4 shift kit, 373-posi. Hedman hedders, Quick-Fuel 750 double pumper. Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers. Replaced idiot lights forAuto Gauges. 16" American Racing torque-thrust chrome wheels with 255's in the rear. 0-60 in 5.5 seconds. Power windows, cruise control, factory sky roof. Factory grid rear defroster. Red basecoat/clearcoat with white interior, swivel buckets, white landau top. My fantasy came true, a Monte with balls!
I owned a 1963 exactly like this one. Mine had a white exterior and black interior but equally as clean as this one. . The bucket seats and center counsel was the same except mine was an automatic. A paid $125 for it in 1973. It burnt oil so I sold it. I bought a 1965 VW bug, regretted it, blew up soon after purchased, then bought a 1971 Datsun pick up, drove it trouble free for a decade.
The top was the most incredible piece of leather that I've ever seen on the top of a vehicle, it was able to withstand a significant Wayne wind and rain and salt and everything like this and it was able to retain its original luster call it shows you the power of the high quality they put into this car they put some amazing things into this car
The body was done by Fisher and they were Coachworks hundreds of years ago, their responsible for the wooden accents, and they were the interior coach designer
In 1966, my parents gave me a duplicate of this car except mine had a white top, It was somewhat tired by then. A head gasket blew in 1967. The motor blew in early 1968. It was towed and I pulled the head at -20 F on the street outside the tow lot. No place to warm up. Piston had a hole in the top. Towed 125 miles and repaired (sort of), Blew a main a couple months later and it went to the junk yard in Little Falls, MN. I was drafted and did not own another car until the Spring of 1971.
My name is David Alt and I live in Maryland. I just purchased a 1965 Austin Moke that is Forest Green has new 998 cc engine and runs perfect. I am having it brought over to Maryland from London England. I had the chance to ride one 27 years ago in Barbado. They are a neat little vehicle that is front wheel drive, no doors, no windows, no heat and NEAT..!!!! Thanks David Alt
Has the correct, original and rare SB-12 Hella, chrome plated brass, headlight trim rings. The front rubber tipped bumper guards are also rare and in nice shape.
@@CommercialVehicle Nonsense. Regardless of the heat, the level of humidity above 40F causes good a/c systems to kick in. Or are you implying that Yankees just like to be sticky? Silly...
