As always, your opinions are backed up with solid facts and holistic insight. I do have a bit of a beef with your characterization of this as "Top 25 SEATTLE SEAHAWKS Players of 2024 Part 1" when in fact it was the top 25 most *intriguing* players of 2024. At first I didn't catch on and when you included Taylor, I did a spit-take (as I agree that it isn't even guaranteed that he will be in the top 53 players of 2024). His story is intriguing, though, so it makes sense to put him on the list. Looking forward to the next 21 players and GO HAWKS!
We promise to correct the title going forward haha good catch and yeah taylor will be intriguing to see what happens with Taylor. Appreciate the support and watching the show!
New subscriber here... Like your take on the QB situation. Geno is an above average NFL QB, he's proven that these last 2 seasons, and even above average (let alone superb) QB's are Very hard to find; having said that, Sam Howell is an intriguing backup/potential starter, plus I just like the sound of "Macdonald & Howell", feels like the title of some long-lost '70's buddy cop show.
Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel. It is going to be fun watching Geno operate in a new offense but with all the familiar faces he's come to known the last couple of seasons also. We look forward to watching Sam in pre season too. We're in a pretty decent spot right now with QBs
@@hawkszonerundownThanks for the response! and yeah, between Geno Smith, Sam Howell, and PJ Walker, our overall QB room is as solid as any in the league
What a great conversation! Dayna is outstanding, both in personality and knowledge. Thanks for bringing her on! Some things that I've noticed about the evolution of the channel is the use of your real names (much appreciated), being able to see Ryan's eyes more during the interviews (makes things more connected), and your continued use of the long-form question followed by allowing the guest to provide a long-form answer. Many of the questions are ones that the two of you have discussed in previous shows, so I know you have opinions, but it is so refreshing to not have the host jump in with their takes at the expense of the guest. Well done! I also like that you promote the guest's channels so much. I'll definitely be heading over to Dayna's and subbing up. Saw Bryce on Dan Vien's channel, came away impressed with your willingness to create a Canadian QB academy to provide coaching and mentoring to the youth. Very admirable. Ryan, hope to see you do a solo guest appearance on another channel soon! Keep up the good work and GO HAWKS!!
Same as you guys, I'm looking forward to the season with positivity regarding this new look coaching staff. Pete is and always will be a legend for Seattle but the last few years it has been almost painful watching this team, in my opinion underperform. Agree that it may take time for the identity of the team to show but also if they hit the ground running with the talent available could easily see them winning 10+ games. Do I expect that? No, patience I think will be needed but the possibility is there. Have to smile as well that the NFL team I chose to follow back in 87 (I'm from the UK) now has links to my football team I grew up supporting West Ham as our new DC AD is a fellow fan and I also saw that Dana is also a fan! How strange these two teams are now linked with Seattle, never thought there would be any connection between them 😀
With this new coaching staff the coming season is so intriguing to see how this team will perform. I'm excited but also cautious to not be over optimistic. There are so many variables that makes this a very challenging but exciting season. So interested to see the new schemes on both sides of the ball and how the squad adapts to these. Can't wait for September! Thanks for the show guys 👍
I’m a Jacson fan, so it’s scary to kind of disagree with him on Sam Howell. To say he’s unimpressed with Howell as a potential QB 1 would be an understatement. Trading for him instead of drafting Rattler I agree was a good move. I agree that there is a real continuum of style from Lock to Howell. BUT the fact that there is a continuum suggests to me that the ‘Hawks are placing a premium on that style. What Howell has, once I looked at his highlights (none of his bonehead plays, that is) he has a quick twitch to him that reminds me of Brett Favre, and that may make John think of Mahomes a bit. Yes, Howell’s lowlight reel shows plenty of what Jacson doesn’t like, but we have to remember that the play calling for the COMMANDERS was borderline malpractice. If Howell can be taught to be a riverboat gambler who wins a lot more than he loses, we have something there. I tend to favor that chance. Time, as they say, will tell.
Not a big deal, but Shelby Harris thinking Seattle was depressing and then immediately signing with the Browns is funny to me, cause Cleveland is more depressing than Seattle in almost every way, and even has gray dreary winters like Seattle!
What a lazy statement. Are you saying you don't want to hear from anyone who has a different view from you? Can't say I agree with Noah's view but I respect he has his own opinion and he gave his reasons for those views. The whole point of shows like HZRD is to provide different view points and aspects for fans to consider, I don't want to live in an echo chamber where everyone agrees or has the same point of view as me. I want to be challenged and made to think and view things from different angles and viewpoints. Part of growing as a person is taking onboard other people's opinions, you don't have to agree with those opinions but at least respect them. Making fun of people or calling them negative if they differ from your own is so immature and seems unfortunately common of people's responses in this social media/internet era. Thanks for the show Bryce and Ryan 👍
Glad to see y'all aren't making the same mistake a lot of 12s made last year--counting on "guaranteed wins" from teams assumed to be bad (Rams and Cards). I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up a distant 3rd again, battling for a 7th seed or even topping out at 7 wins, depending on how Grubb's offense translates and the OLine works out. I'm okay with a transition year for the first year coaches, especially on offense. I'm confident the defense will be vastly improved and should be hitting at 100% by season's end. What I would like to see is we are not just staying competitive with talent alone--like we did over the last few years of PC's tenure; but rather I want to see us winning with scheme and letting the athletes be in the best position to make easy plays, rather than being more athletic and more try-hard than our opponents. As far as Noah positing that the 2022 season was counterproductive becuase Geno ended up being good and wouldn't let us tank, we DID have the opportunity to take Will Levis twice and did not. Not that I think he's Stroud, but the 2022 results were the best of all worlds: we made the playoffs and STILL had the chance to draft a franchise QB. We just chose not to, and I'm okay with that. Also, it put us on a schedule that made the coaching change to Mac possible. If we tanked, we would still be with Pete--or we would be with a new HC that had a rookie QB that they didn't draft.
7 n 10 or 10 n 7 if the defense improves which in my opinion cant get any worse lol and thr offense can convert on 3rd and improve, we could compete for the division, our division games are crucial we can't settle for splits , 12 n 5 is my call 🤙
Thank you Lofa for letting the doubting Seahawks fans now that if you put an offensive line in front of a great QB and Geno will be that this year ...still it depends on his offensive line. I can see that Geno is ready to take this team to another level !!! His chip is even bigger than Baker !!!... believe that !!!!!
Love Rob and been following him since 2010 but he gets a bit wordy. On his show back when Geno got the job, he trashed Geno. Saying he will through short etc and he doesn’t want to watch that kinda game so take it for what you will. He doesn’t run the team and like the rest of us likes to play arm chair football
Not a fan of Rob, he's genuinely saying we should start the worse quarterback to "see what we have" while acknowledging that might be a strategy to tank. This isn't madden. Players will ask for trades if we're not trying to win. Chasing a hypothetical future superbowl at the cost of the current season is ridiculous.
Also you guys need to stick to your guns. When Lofa was on you two were agreeing that we should stick with Geno, now with Rob you're flipping your opinion to what he's saying.
@@coreyparchem3470 we acknowledge that Geno is the starter with both of these guests but are open to opinions. That doesn't mean we wouldn't like to see an open competition at camp. It was even brought up with Lofa and he looked at us and didn't agree at all. We acknowledge that it's Geno's job to lose but at the same time we want to see what Howell brings. We bring guests on who will have different perspectives and opinions, but by no means are we flip flopping.
Our secondary was deep as hell with the LOB shoot Marcus Trufant was still starting CB before passing the torch to Richard Sherman him Brandon Browner, Byron Maxwell , Jeremy Lane , Walter Thurman , Simmon Tharld and that was just the corner back room.
Im gonna give a different perspective on the Qbs, McDonald doesnt want to deal with rookie Qb the first year. Hes going to be so busy implementing his offense, defense etc to the whole team. You need 2 experienced qbs to implement the offense, this is a complex offensive system. Just my opinion...
Generally agree with the British guy, but holy smokes is he dramatic!! It's like the reveal on a campy BBC soap opera on every point. Bless that chap's heart lol
Robb your simply awful no clue what so ever!! Am 15 mins in and shocked you've not mentioned hufanga yet. I'm sure it coming though 😂 you should actually do film study cause you chat is negative garbage 🗑️
