Hailing from the North Carolina countryside, or “The Middle of Nowhere,” as it’s proudly dubbed on their debut album, the 6 headed musical monster known as 'Big Something' has steadily become one of the most unique and exciting rock bands to emerge from the Southeast.
Huge rhythms paired with soaring guitars, E.W.I (electronic wind instrument), synths, horns and soulful vocals rise to the top of their signature sound taking listeners on a journey through a myriad of musical styles. With a diverse and growing catalog of timeless songs that tell stories, and a high energy live show fusing improvisational alternative rock with funk, reggae, jazz, electronica, heavy metal and more - there's not another band quite like Big Something.
I have goosebumps. Already spoiled with GREAT vocals and instrumentals and then you spice it up with KANIKA?! ooooOOOooooo yes. Lights my soul right up!
I used to lead a band called Emma’s Lounge. We were supposed to play this MMF and I bought my parents tickets to the festival for Xmas…but EL had to cancel after our lead guitarist moved away. Me and our drummer Tyler bought tickets to MMF and went anyway…with my parents! Never thought I’d go to a festival with my parents but it was a magical experience getting to share my “happy place” with them and seeing Big Something together. Big Something have provided so many amazing memories and I love them so much. (Logan V.) PS- this was my first time hearing Bob and Weave and immediately knew it was a damn hit. 🖤🖤🖤
You guys are reaching new heights and places in the sets and I'm here for all of it! So refreshing to see you guys finding new places to expand and explore! ❤
This show absolutely blew my mind. Had never heard of Big Something until they stepped on stage and I walked away with my jaw on the floor. Felt so fresh and unique.
These guys are tactical ripping astronauts! They played at mountain music festival about a month ago (I think they play there every year) but, they did "Life during wartime" from the talking heads at the end which I missed. So I was bummed, but the uploaded it to youtube. I haven't stopped listening to them since I left. They played Algorithm, and they had fireworks that went off to the music. I am still blown away from the performance. Another guy replied to me on my comment on the video that they were even better when he saw them. They just always over deliver. That's exactly how I felt about them. Fresh and unique. Very few make you look at music differently. They're amazing.
THEY ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE EVER SINCE I SAW THEM LIVE @THE LINCOLN THEATER NEW YEARS RUN 2017... THANK GOD FOR RU-vid SO I CAN FEEL THEIR AWESOME VIBES ANYTIME I WANT. ✌️🎶🤘
@@camw.3427you’re not the only fan I’ve met to be open arms welcoming to new fans. Thanks dude. I really have never heard of the band prior to a month ago, I’m down in NC and am looking at getting a ticket to the Big What. I’ll probably be alone but people like you make me feel like it would be a big party with family I’ve never met before
Can’t wait to see these guys live! They were here in Portland in March at my favorite small venue but Umphrey’s was playin same night. Tough choice but had to go with team Umphrey’s. Next time for sure!! 🤩🙏
They played again at mountain music festival this year. They had fireworks cued with the music when they played algorithm?! They're tactical astronauts! Haven't stopped listening since I left. Will do again and again!
I was there, and that Breakers melted my face off, best jam I’ve experienced in a while. Guys just keep killing it, can’t wait to see you on the Mt again next year.
This was one of if not the best show I've ever seen. Once in a lifetime performance. Everyone in this band shreds and they shred well together. The fireworks transported it to another dimension. My wife and I headed back to the tent after the fireworks went off bc it was getting cold and we thought that was it. Didn't think it could get any better. Wrong. She is obsessed with the talking heads, and "Life during wartime" is one of my fav's. We were laying in the tent and we heard "Life during wartime". So, needless to say I've been kinda bummed I didn't get to see it so thanks for uploading! I will for sure keep this in regular rotation! The albums don't do it justice, great albums, but what they laid out during the performance you have to see it in person. Will see again, and again, 20/10 Thank you guys!
@@duannegarrett5800 They are tactical rippers. I will be catching them again and again. It's always something new and they always keep it fresh. The fireworks were going along with the jesse as he was playing and I've never seen anything like it! They're monsters.
