@@JamesByrneusahi James I actually met an issue. I received an email from shopify saying all “58 products were ignored because they already exist in your store”. All I did was adjust the on hand and available columns. There was no option to avoid the titles like you did when I was exporting. Do you know what I might have missed? Thanks.
You did the math the wrong way. Think of this. What is 30% of 100? Well that's 100*.3 which equals 30. Which is right, we are finding 30% of 100. Just do the opposite when you want the bigger number. So what is 70% of 100? well that's 100*.7 which equals 70. Therefore, if b2 is 16.92, then b2*.7= 11.886. With that we found what the price is after the 30% discount. If your percent is different just do 100-(your percent). Ex: 100-15=85 if your discount is 15. Then the difference is what you multiply as a decimal times the price. so b2*.85. Hope this helps anyone who finds this.

Great video. Quite informative. I have a question. How do I address duplicate reviews? Many of my items have the same review when they shouldn't. I thoroughly checked my import file (CSV) and all the reviews are unique and tied to different product IDs. Any help you can provide would go a long way.
hey - 1) delete ALL reviews that you uploaded sorry. 2) just add a few reviews for ONE product and upload it 3) see if there are duplicates 4) IF YES, then a) check your file and see if there are any weird | pipes or , or anything that shouldn't be there, a good way to test this is to have one product then create 3 reviews for it and just add basic text like. Review 1 howdy Review 2 wasup Review 3 James is great - then upload this BASIC info and see if you still get duplicates - if you do you need to contact their support b) contact their support and see if they have an updated way to do this as this video is over a year old - sorry

do you have a recent version of this theme? if so, send it to me and I will make a video for you - I won't be able to activate it because it is a paid theme but I can show you how to customize it
a) hopefully you have an older backup of the site (ie: do to Online Store and look at themes and see if there is a previous version that you can revert back to, if not, then you will have to hire a developer (like me :)) to help fix the issue. b) did you add a new app or plugin recently? c) when did this start happening? d) what changes were made to the website code, theme, customizer? - this is too vague a question to answer without details. SO --> send details
Do you mean install the theme? If so, you will need the THEME zip file (this is a paid theme so you have to buy it. Also this video is for older versions of this theme). Once you have the theme, go to ONLINE store on the left --> THEMES --> then on the right you will see ADD THEME drop down. It shows UPLOAD THEME, GITHUB or VISIT THEME STORE. Once you upload it - you can select PUBLISH to the right of the theme and then it will be live. If you go to the SHOPIFY THEME store, then you will select USE THIS THEME or TRY THIS THEME and it will install it to your store. Note: you need to be logged in as admin in your Shopify store in order for the theme to install.
you have to add Shopifys Search and Discovery App - then control it with custom Meta Fields - Custom filters Custom filters can be created using your product variant options, or with metafields. For example, if you sell clothing with different variants for size, then you can add a filter for size. Learn more about adding custom filters with metafields.
@@JamesByrneusa I've used the app, however even when you use the custom metafilters I cant get colour swatches on the filter page. I can only get the name of the colour.
@@yunus587 oh I get it. you will have to upload swatches with the same names to the assets folder ie: yellow. would be yellow.png. or yellow-swatch.png. but you would also have to made code edits to get it to pull in the swatches - of you look at this - litextension.com/blog/how-to-add-color-swatches-to-shopify/. but you will need to customize this for the product filter as there is no tutorial for it AND if I were to work on this, I would need collaborator access to your store but this would be billable - sorry
@@JamesByrneusa Would you recommend using a filtering app. I've read a few reviews stating that they often cause bugs? Also in the link that you sent, it said to copy the code in this file. However, the file isn't present any ideas on where I could find the code?
check out 12:07 and watch it from there - into the video it shows you where to click to get their CSV version - you will click on FILE link under FROM CUSTOMERS DIRECTLY (with Import Wizard) - that will download sample csv for you to match

thank you so much! One question. Do you know how to limit color swatches for like 3-4 options. Currently I have products with over 30 different colors. They are all being shown on the product listing page which takes way to much space. Also does not look nice and professionell.
You would have to find the CLASS on the ELEMENT by looking at DEV TOOLS INSPECT in chrome then use CSS to make a WIDTH and HEIGHT for the DIV for that class then set OVERFLOW none and scroll Y. This way your options would show in a standard box and a user could scroll them. I wouldn't do this though and would contact their support first. If you are going to add the CSS you have to make sure you add it on the APP and not within your Shopify CSS as it will not have any effect.
@@Human_Evolution- gotcha - check out the other stores using the newer template - themes.shopify.com/themes/expanse/styles/modern?surface_detail=expanse&surface_inter_position=1&surface_intra_position=1&surface_type=search you should be able to add the account to the header under theme settings - otherwise you will have to edit the theme.liquid file
The Dawn theme allows the collection image you upload to show on the main site as the default image to the given collection, which is very useful. How can I choose a default image with Expanse? Is the only possible way to edit the code?
In the footer it just says email and not the actual email address. I need it to have the actual email address and have tried several things with no success, can you please help.

Hi James I have the Expanse theme. I want to create a side-bar menu but not able to. Firstly in the home page if I click on collections as per your video I do not see any item "alternate". How do I create side bar-menus. I have been trying for days. Secondly how do I link the sub-menus and to what shout they be linked to. how do you get the option in the top part of the menu "gift certificate" and "account" that you have? I can only edit the menu in the bottom bar of the header.
Whats your store URL? also, are you using latest version of Expanse or an older one? Expanse has been updated to 2.0 Shopify tech since this video but you can add another menu with code
Hi James, I've created some collections, with each of which stuffed some DSers imported & tagged products. But dunno know how to get theses collection of products go-live into my store. Seen some tutorials showing that, under the side tab "section" of default theme , just click "add a section", select "Featured selection", select certain collection previously created & save. Refresh the store homepage, products show up already. Unfortunately, this did't work for me. So any suggestion? Many thanks!
@@ninochekurishvili7209 You want to focus as much effort on the Shopify store and blog. External blogs that point to your website are good if you have a lot of traffic going to the site and want to funnel it to your Shopify store. Do not add the SAME blog to both websites. If you write a blog about 7 Best Raw Dog Foods on Shopify you would want to make a blog on your Wordpress site like The Best Raw Dog Foods for 2023 then change the copy around and not copy it. Then link to Shopify. If just starting out, put ALL of your efforts into Shopify and getting content onto it. If you have 3 blogs on the homepage, increase them to 6 or more depending on what you are marketing, then make sure you have your sitemap remitted to google search console so that google and others can index the new site. IF possible, start with 2 blogs per week but you want to shoot for 4 per week (It is a lot, but the more valid and helpful content you have on your website the better) - hope this helps.
Go to customization, click theme settings, product card then scroll to product image loading effect and put yours instead 🙂...it's in writing not image
I have a problem with the Ella theme, in the Language/Currency i have 2 Languages, Italian and English, in the English language the FLAG shows up but when you select the Italian language it's white without flag...how can i add the flag?

@@adamacademy2276 Then you should use a free Shopify theme until you make some profits and then buy the paid theme. Developers put a lot of work into creating paid themes and they’re also legal issues for giving someone a paid theme that they did not pay for
