Steel doesnt "need" to be red to forge on a power hammer. Alot of people use the smaller Anyang's like yours for cold texturing, aka hitting the steel cold. So long as it isnt a harder steel than the dies it wont really hurt anything.
That's an old Army forge isn't it? If so, how did I know? I have the same forge but it has an exhaust/smoke hood on it. I have my dad's anvil and his old vise that is the very same that you have.
