IN A WORLD where movie reviewers sit alone in their nerd caves, talking to a camera like a real human being, ranting into a microphone when no one's there to hear them, all because their friends were "too busy" to hang out... One man dares to re-create the cinematic style of every movie he sees in a silly, over-the-top and cheap looking way, like watching a kid play with his toys, you see his passion, enthusiasm or lack thereof to every movie he sees!

Well i mean, some cartoons doesnt need a punchyline to have a good ending, but this one is kinda off, because it just dont make sense. I think the best cartoons that use the dr. Jekyll and mr hyde formula are hyde and go tweet and the impatient patient. Also, im surprise that when you talk there is no music, probably just a mistake, still great review as always

two friz freeleng cartoons in a row. Honestly this one is kinda there, it isnt that bad but it isnt that good either but its ok for what it is. And the next one is yet another friz directed cartoon, hyde and hare, which is a bit worse than this one but is okay enough, but it doesnt pass the 6/10 if you ask me

Fun fact: this cartoon is sort of remake/remade version of another cartoon called stooge for a mouse, made 7 years before, which stars sylvester. it is mostly the same and has the same gags in some parts but replaces rocky and mugsy with sylvester and hector the bulldog and bugs with a mouse.

the only reason its bad received is because it was marketed towards comic fans instead of fans of filmmaking in general. comic fans wanted easily digestible shlock and spectacle, which they didn't get. obviously these films are nowhere near being masterpieces but this film in particular I found to be pretty original compared to the first movie. I think both joker films should be watched together at once as one. it's an else world tale which people don't seem to understand.
@TylerWolff
@TylerWolff 7 дней назад
While I don't like how EXCESSIVE comic fans have been with this one, I do know some people who didn't like this as a movie, and it's easy to see why-they did make some divisive choices. But looking back on the 1st one, they did click with me and it made sense in the long run.

You’re the first positive review I’ve seen and I pretty much noticed or felt the same way about a lot of things like you did. I just think people expected a more criminal Mastermind “heath ledger” type scenario when the two movies aren’t that kind of movie. I also think that Arthur was right that most people would walk over him if he was dying as he said in the first movie, and in a meta sense the audience that hates this movie claiming character assassination are doing did what Lee and some of the Joker supporters did in the courthouse. Nobody cared about Arthur, just Joker.

I loved the movie. Idc what others say, it might not have been as good as the first but it was still enjoyable to watch. More enjoyable and unique than marvel movies. Id give it an 8 out of 10. People also hated the last of us 2 and that was a great game/sequel that people hated for no reason.

@@TylerWolff ok, but honestly his acting "style" is more focused on him having an internal monologue that goes "I am acting now. Now I am acting as an actor. This is me acting" rather than immersing in the role.

Good thing he picks parts that require inner monologues for it to work (Paterson, Marriage Story)... not saying they all do (White Noise, Midnight Special)

@@TylerWolff Are you serious? Marriage Story is contrived garbage with everyone literally pointing to themselves on the screen "See! This is how mature of a role this is, I am in the role of a complicated adult". An utter atrocity of pretentious writing and a failed attempt at someone trying to talk about things they clearly know jack shit about. The fact it won an Oscar just speaks to the fact that the industry is in a bottomless shit pit.

Interesting that you didn't like the two performances that most people are praising, Plaza's and Lebeouf's. I didn't think it was a bad movie. I knew people weren't going to like it. It reminded me very much of older films from the early 1900s, with the keyhole effects, wider perspectives, continuity errors, oratory delivery, art deco theme, etc. It helps to have read the Bellum Catilinae, which I haven't, but I've studied Caesar enough to be familiar with some of the dynamics between the historical people that the characters in the movie were loosely based on. It's important to keep in mind that Coppola had complete artistic liberty with the movie, which may explain why it's not being well received. It's a parable about modern American society using historic Roman precedence. The whole theme is pretentious, so general audiences are going to hate it.

@@TylerWolffits a fun episode and its more than just that. I think “most people” love the nomads. They spawned one of the most quotable lines from the whole show. The explanation of the creation and naming of omashu was well done, its great lore/ world building. In this episode they tell us that badger-moles are the original earth benders which is an important detail. It develops aang and kataras relationship and I dont think it boils down to a simple will they wont they trope here. We see them being awkward, aang making mistakes in his dating like that makes him relatable to the audience. Then we get zuko and iroh seeing some actual repercussions of the war. Broken households and emotionally (and physically) scared characters. It serves as a bump in the road for Zuko on his journey. The audience sees stumble once again stealing the ostrich horse. Its important to see our characters in these “filler” episodes. Gives us time to see who they are and what they are like. Then it makes their character resolution at the end, much more satisfying. Without these little moments the ending does not hit as hard. Mixed in with some funny moment from sokka and great animation I think it one of the more memorable episodes
@TylerWolff
@TylerWolff 17 дней назад
I'm not "most people" and we all have hot take opinions (such as myself) that need to be shared anyways to show that what entertains people differs from person to person. If I don't find the nomad jokes funny (which I didn't), it doesn't matter what "most people" think coz it doesn't change my mind. But, it doesn't ruin the rest of the show-so it's not a big deal. There's nothing wrong with filler episodes if they say something special about the characters... I just didn't find this special (aside from Zuko and Iroh)-if anything, the mistakes Aang and Katara make in this are mistakes I see couples make in movies & TV shows, not real life, hence why I find it manufactured instead of genuine.
