Hey guys! I'm Dan and welcome to my channel where I share my Perspective on investing with you. Experience is bitter and sweet. However, without the bitter experience, it's hard for us to grow. We've all had to start as a beginner in something but the things you see and the decisions you make will determine how fast and how far you grow over time.
This channel mainly focuses on the WHYs and HOWs of investing in the stock market. And my goal is to help you make informed decisions in the future and avoid the same mistakes that I've made before.

I found this useful up until I tried to process "sells". e.g. A sell transaction with a large profit will skew cost-per-share to negative and throw basically everything off, making the Portfolio sheet useless. "Sells" need to be treated by reducing the original amount purchased, then track the remaining holdings going forward.
Your formula for quantity doesn't seem to discount shares of the same stock that have been sold already, and instead just adds them up with shares that have been bought. Can you fix that part please?
How do you record realized profit or loss using the spreadsheet you have proposed? For example if you conduct a sell transaction at a profit it simply reduces total quantity and total market value/cost. But that doesn't account for the profit you made. Please advise on this!
i make huge profits on my investment since i started trading with a professional broker Mrs Stacie Morgan her trading strategy are top notch coupled with the little commission she charges on her trade, thanks so much♥
Amazing i also just started trading with Mrs Stacie .she is the best at what she does with an initial, Investment of $4,300 i made $11,980 in just a week of trading. with her strategy are wind blowing. my portfolio is worth much more now within just weeks of trading with her.
why is it so impossible to find someone calculating average cost correctly (It's not the sum of your cost divided by the sum of your quantity, as soon as you sell anything). If someone knows of a video teaching how to calculate it in excel, could you please share?
Financial investment can be emotionally exhausting/frustrating in a case where inconsistency in trade wins is much. Positive results are guaranteed more if one works with a reliable professional. My most sincere take though!!
I share the same view. Tried to make a start on crypto investment but was almost frustrated out by heavy loses till JOANNA MALIVA LEE was recommended to me. She has been managing my portfolios for a while now and have never faltered
Hi guys - just a quick update! TD Ameritrade are ceasing their services for NZ residents with a cut-off date from start of November 2021, so if you have an account with them, you will only be able to close positions from that point onwards. An alternative to Sharesies, Stake, Hatch - please have a look at Interactive Brokers: www.interactivebrokers.com/en/home.php My referral link below: ibkr.com/referral/poyen116
I am new to this and this week I have tried duplicating your work with my profile. However I realized that (Average Cost Per Share) will become in accurate if I have repeated transaction for the same stock. So lets say i have transacted on the same stock for 4 times, and sold partial of the stock twice and bought it twice as well. Because of the “profit” in sold amount for the transaction history tab it had resulted in a lower percentage of cost per share. Is there anyway I can override this issue?
Robinhood doesn't allow more than one portfolio, so hoping to make a version of this which allows me to subcategorize. Long term investment portfolio vs the money I'm just throwing in for some return while waiting to buy Cybertruck portfolio for example.
I've been working with Stock Data extensively for a few months. The stocks I wanted to use were in a CSV that needed to be updated regularly, and at the time it seemed like there was no other way to update the Stock Data without refreshing the CSV (imported using Power Query). I wrote a macro that would import the CSV and then select the column with the Ticker (symbol) and convert it (back to) a Stock Data type. The macro grew as I hid the display, returned to the worksheet I started on, and even cleared the filters on all tables as the macro would crash if a table was filtered. Then earlier this week I discovered that you can right click on the column with the symbols and select "Data Type -> Refresh" to update the Stock Data and bypass having to do a Refresh All. While all my data is in an Excel Table, it would work for a range as well. I put that action into a macro that saves a LOT of time on a refresh!
Hey, for the sumif formula, how does it work if you have two of the same stocks. I keep getting #spill error and i'm assuming it's because i more than 1 of the same stock in my transaction history (buying more, of the same stock, lightening positions ect). Thanks
