I was lucky enough to be there! In the top 3 atmospheres I’ve ever experienced at Villa Park ❤ the others being tranmere semi final 2nd leg penalties & 5-1 against blues UTV
I was there that night next to the inter Milan fans was crazy when razor Houghton scored and when Phil king kicked the winner inter fans were good about it shook hands
Sat above and directly behind Irelands goal at Giants Stadium when Ireland beat Italy 1-0 at the 1994 word cup. If ever a training video wanted to show how to defend, they should have trained the camera on Paul McGrath. Absolute masterclass. Italy never got a sniff.
I do like a bit of ribena now and again. 😏 Ribena. I love ribena. 🙂 I hate ribena. 😒 Yes, I'm partial to a nice pint of bitter. And a bit later on 😉, a bacardi and coke. Usually a double.
It would be interesting to see him play in his prime for Villa today alongside Tyrone Mings I'm sure he would help Tyrone and hone his craft as a defender
I remember being 12, jumping off my bunk bed when King scored and hitting my head on the ceiling. There was a head shaped mark in that ceiling until I moved out..so worth it!!
McParland committed a very reckless and dangerous late tackle on Ray Wood, the United goalkeeper, which effectively reduced Man Utd to ten men and fundamentally changed the balance of power in the match. Wood had the ball in his hands when McParland came crashing into him! The tackle was so late, that even by 1950’s standards, McParland should have been sent off.
What a fantastic atmosphere, and intensity of Villa's game, the perfect meadow, that's why I'm falled in love with English football, there'nt equal in others countries in the world!!
