An Ordinary Australian Couple who chooses to live a simpler lifestyle whilst being kinder to the planet. Loving life along the way with many ups and downs as we grow older together!
Love westies we lost our Cindy a week and a half ago she had a stroke and after that she went down hill so had to put her to sleep. She was 13 years old we loved her to bits she had a westie attitude but so loveable.
Beautiful ❤ lovely little dogs West highland terriers are the best ever. So much fun to be with and so intelligent . Our first two were Bertie and Brianna. It breaks your heart when they go to doggy heaven. Then we had two rescue Westies 💖adorable . Sadly they’re both gone now😔 Hopefully one day we will have more when the time is right. Thanks for the video ❤️
Yes, Hamish did, but unfortunately we were in lockdown at the time so we couldn't get him to the groomers. BTW, Hamish and Bonnie have their own channel www.youtube.com/@HamishandBonnietheWesties
I have owned three Westies and my third is almost 13 years old now and been the healthiest. The first one died on the table getting her teeth cleaned, and the second went into liver failure and had to put her down. I wouldn't own any dog but a Westie!
This is a strange moment --- I landed here while looking up info for a potential car purchase, and thought "hm, have I made a wrong turn? Maybe I accidentally clicked into one of my subscriptions as a longtime curd nerd." Nope, no cheese, just a very unexpected coincidental intersection
Yes we grow some of our own food and I’m beginning to grow more in mixed bed of ornamental and vegetables so I can grow even more. It’s really a security AND a financial necessity! Thank you
Good for you! Our prices here in the midwest USA are ridiculous, especially if you live in the rural areas. Food prices are doubled from what you would find in the metro areas. A 5lb bag of potatoes is $6 in rural communities while the same brand and bag in a metro area would be $3. For the past few years I have not been able to tend to our two gardens due to spine issues, and this past year I have adapted myself using a wheelchair for daily life. I cannot take care of my 40'X70' and 30'X30' gardens anymore with the huge tillers and lugging the irrigation lines, so I let them grow over. So I found eight 50gal metal drums that were used to hold bulk liquid soap. I got them for $5 per barrel. I cut each of them lengthways and power-washed them out. Remember I said they used to hold bulk liquid soap? Yep! I had an "I Love Lucy" moment on my hands! Soapy bubbles EVERYWHERE! Lol! My neighbour told me, "I didn't know you could wash a lawn!" Smarty pants! I drilled drain holes in the bottoms, painted and set them on chunks of old concrete chunks that were once part of an old foundation. So now I have 16 planters that I placed in various areas of the yard so I can grow a variety of vegetables once again. I plant companion flowers with them so the town doesn't get finicky about veggie planters in the front yard.
Beautiful dogs! I’ve got a cairn Terrier who is a year old. She’s been a joy to watch grow. Bonnie reminds me of her. By the way, a professional groomer works wonders.
Yes, well aware of the services of a groomer. This was mostly filmed during Covid-19 lockdown, so they were closed for about 6 months here in Melbourne. Sorry if it triggered you.
I feel weird being 2 years late to the party here, but I've only recently discovered the wonders of cheese making and your pages... thank you for all the amazing content you make and I'm overjoyed to see that you've both made it through such a difficult and dark time... I hope you both are living exceedingly well now and in great health!
My first one was Bonnie. She lived to 16. Now I'm crying lol. My current one is named Kimmie. She is 14 and getting old. If I get another She will be named bethany
Hey Gavin, I am looking to put in a studio at my own house, just wanted to ask about the city council regulations around putting a studio in and how much the building approval was?
This was so lovely to watch. Thank you Gav and Kim. :) This might be silly but I really appreciate the respect you had for the ducklings and the Momma duck, giving them lotsa space but also ensuring the dogs couldn't bother them and such.
I have a Lexus EV which is type 2. It won’t charge on Tesla destination charger even though both are type 2 plugs. Do you think there is an adaptor which would allow me to charge on a Tesla destination charger?
Hopefully you go visit the local duck pond tomorrow and see if you can see her and the kids. And now you can clean the pool again. Luckily they weren’t there for long enough to really foul it. Duck itch is not fun and would required a full drain, scrub and refill off the pool.
Ducks’ residue from preening and waste/faeces have been known to wreak havoc upon pool pumps. Their cute but am not terribly keen on financial ruin by encouraging the ducks or family of raccoon invading our pool
