The really sad part of this and the reason Luffy takes this so serious as well as to why it affects him so much is that Luffys the type of guy to go to hell and back for someone he meets for the first time if he consider them a friend and the fact that one of his litteral crew mates is too afraid to ask for help is something that hurts Luffy personally and perceives it as himself failing his crew who he'd think would come to him with anything there dealing with.
I'm sorry but pound for pound, the Koala reveal is even more important to me than the Sabo reveal. Her story and the connection to the Sun Pirates is so wonderful, and her becoming a Revolutionary, just seems like she's out for revenge for Fisher Tiger and her Fishman Brothers who saved her, and the World Government that sacrificed them all. It's too perfect.
The way Mihawk speaks to crocodile and how he speaks to Mihawk makes me think they are a lot closer in power than we think, I feel like crocodile is atleast admiral level
I forget the amount of plot twists in OP, one of the reasons we still love it after 25 years and 1000+ chaps/eps. Another one is how we go from absolutely hating the fck out of a character to really liking them 👏
Everyone talking about how Zoro is a chad for this, but everyone forgetting how Kuma was doing these people every favor. He has watched over Luffy before his pirate career began, went against orders by intentionally holding back his "ursus shock" attack and tested the crew by asking for Luffy alone, chose to honor Zoro's bravery and even gave him a way out after offering just a sample of the brutality he would subject himself to. And this was before learning his history, we have a gigachad amongst us.
For those who complain how Luffy is selfish in the fact that he will always let himself be killed to save the others, no matter how much it would hurt them, you have to remember that it works both ways and even if Luffy ordered them not to, any other member would still give their life for him and the others. If nothing else, the ideology is equal amongst all crew members. Luffy just uses the "captain" title as a justification for his reasons and why he thinks the others aren't allowed to sacrifice themselves for him, even though he's wrong and just making excuses; they would do it regardless of what he tells them.
