Thank you!!! These 2 videos have saved me. I went through the same thing. Big BOOM, sulfur smell, tow home, still no startup after spark plugs & coils. Finally had success after changing that purge valve! (I also had a loose hose that I discovered while changing the valve) Is there any follow up to this? Did that valve change last? Thank you again!
My wife's 2016 Prius Hybrid lost the passenger side pull hook cover in the automated carwash. What does this are the 10 high performance blow dryers. We didn't notice it immediately but if we had, the car wash may have found it in their drain at the dryer end of the carwash. It's the correct paint and the clear coat that make this expensive. We also lost the complete rear wiper arm in this carwash before it changed hands and underwent a complete overhaul. Now I use 2" wide blue tape on the wiper arm. I think I will do the same on the pull hook covers.
this is what my moms car is doing but its leaking a TON of fuel when she starts it … could it still be a blown head gasket, or is it a fuel leak or what is it????
did the car smell badly of gas? my mom is having the same code pop up and the car stopped accelerating when we were on the freeway, we had to pull over… & the engine started to throttle when we tried to start the car again
I bought a 3 pack master lock from U-Haul. I knew any lock can be cut easily with a bolt cutter so my plan all along was to block the doors with our cars until they could get picked up.
You had the plugs changed 30K ago so you "knew" they couldn't be the issue. Without visibly checking the plugs you cannot be sure. I once had a misfire that was caused by a piece of carbon getting jammed between the spark plug tip and the side electrode. Removal of the carbon fixed it!
Big hands, the passenger side is a challenge but fulfilling to not have to pay 💰 a king’s ransom to pay the dealer. Took my savings and invested in a led 2825 currently $4.26 online price matched as of 11/3/23.
@@realrandomcarstuffThank you - understood! I'll drain it then, but need to figure out how much its gonna take to refill, and procedure on how to refill (which, suspecting, would be easy)
@@igorl8367 there are a lot of videos on changing out the coolant. It’s very easy. Just turn a knob under the radiator and it drains. Close it and then refill.
I'm all for being courteous to others, but when you make a decision to roll out into a four lane road WITHOUT A CROSSWALK - hoping - that they'll see you and stop in time, you need to accept responsibility for the outcome. As a driver, would you have felt as understanding if the person just walked out into traffic? Being in a chair generally makes one more cautious, not less.
This same knocking is happening to my 2014 with 225k on it. Knocks at start and sometimes from stopping when the engine kicks back on. Egr was SUPPOSEDLY cleaned this year at a shop. Replaced plugs and nothing besides running a little better. I drive is hundreds of miles a day some days and thousands a month. No other engine issues have come up. Check engine has been coming on for misfire cylinder 2 but seems to resolve itself. Any tips? Bringing to the mechanic tomorrow.
@@johnnywang206 Will find out today at the mechanic. Didn't use the car all weekend and it didn't shake with cold start or have any issues driving 15 mins to the mechanic.
Thanks so much for this. I spent an hour today swearing and tearing up my hand. I had actually gotten the passenger side bulb out, and couldn't get the new LED to work. I put it all back together, dropping one of the bolts into the chassis in the process. Then I came across your video, and saw your tip about reversing the polarity of the bulb. That gave me the motivation to pull it all apart again! Sure enough, reversing the bulb worked. I was able to shake the bolt loose from the front bumper where it had ended up, and got it all back together. What a pain!
Any update on how long this fix lasted for you? Currently have the same issue but have hesitated because I've seen some people recommending not to use products like this. let me know please!
I think it lasted me 800 miles. It just depends on how bad your head gasket is. It there is a big hole then it won’t last long. I would say it’s only good to get you to the mechanic for a more permanent fix.
Weird problem. 2012 Prius, 145k miles. Oil changed religiously at every 10K, 0W20 full synthetic. Never driven at low coolant levels. Sudden loss of coolant on the highway. drove 200 miles one way, no problem. on the way back, stopped at every rest area to add DI water, i.e. every 30 miles or so. In each case, there is still some water in the plastic tank. Engine runs smooth, accelerates smooth, purrs like a cat. No white water vapors in the exhaust. Took apart the front, and looked for pink residue around connections and radiator seal lines. No pink residue. Rubber hoses are tightened with original spring clamps, but no pink leaks. Electric water pump is clean. However, there is pink residue at the back of the plastic overflow tank, the firewall and the drive shaft. Sometimes the leak is so big, that it ends up on the front passenger tire and the passenger side doors. How does it go from inside to the OUTSIDE the vehicle is a mystery. Check engine never shows up. The high temperature light comes on and off, sometimes flashing, sometimes solid, then disappears. Driving around town seems no loss so far. Planning to do a pressure test and exhaust fumes test later on today.
