I made this channel to help people do repairs on their own when a mechanic or a handyman is not around. Some repairs are simple, some looks daunting, specially electrical in nature, and what if you lose your service or user manual? Don't worry. It can be done. In this channel, I will show you how to trace circuits, remove parts properly, build the schematics and fix the problem.
Here, I will show how to do actual or hands on test of electronic or electrical stuff, and explain how they work in more simpler ways I can think of. Keep in mind that I do not know everything but I always learn new things. Then I share them to you and we can all learn from experience. Also, I choose English as the language because I want that everyone can watch my videos. I upload at least one video weekly.
Good day Mr. Its very clear good video n nice tutorial. I have a question that i want to know how many volt of the secondary winding that has 2 wire.. Can i plug the primary to the 220vac wall outlet and measure the voltage on the obove secondary wire.? Of course we do not touch the Hv pin/ output or chasis on the transformer. Thanks you.🤝
Another ( safe ! ) way to test , is to wire the EHT winding to your domestic mains supply ( neutral MUST connect to the steel core ! ) ... then switch on ..... there should be a low voltage present at the original mains terminals ( around 10 to 25 Volts , depending on which country you are in ) ... this is not an efficient way to use this transformer , but OK for testing ... because it is reasonably SAFE ! .. ( tried - n - tested ) ........... DAVE™🛑
Bro. It will definately not work longer. It's just permanent joint. Magnatron filament's points always joint by welding Bcoz it will has to bear high temperature.
So question, i have the new snap in wire boxes, What would happen if i wire it 1 2 3 insead of 3 2 1? Is each hole designed for only a certain ammount of current on the switch or do you think it would work just backwards number wise meaning on 1 would speed 3.. Hypothetically of course. I think it would work just be backwards.
It would just be labeled backwards. Each circuit has different a different number of turns of wire going to the motor thus the resisitance readings shown, the switch is just a selector and since this one has a capacitor to jump start the blades it shouldn't matter, but an older fan or motor might not start reliably unless it's turned to the highest setting first or spun up by hand.
I have repaired many microwaves and have never seen a magnetron with a bad filament or bad filament socket. Honestly though, even if I did, I would not waste all that time replacing the socket on an old magnetron. Magnetrons weaken over time, so it's best to replace it. They are cheap enough. Thank you though for the video. It is very helpful to those wishing to do this repair.
Great explanation about the 5pin flasher relay. Makes it easy to install this instead of three 2 pin flasher relays and two 4 pin relays to trigger ignition
Most of these cheap bushings in dirt collecting applications tend to become stuck , they benefit in the long term from adding inner channels, google "inner channel bushing", the simplest way it can be made, making 3 channels 120 deg apart, parallel to axis, 1mm deep, with a triangular hand file or a square one with sharp edges. Plus, sand a bit if there is not enough axis play, then add lithium grease.
