Bills 8960 is pretty awesome. My dad and grandpa both were at DMI at the time bill bought it. The engine was already bought and ready when the tractor showed up. Backed it off of the semi and straight into the R&D shop. Both dad and grandpa ran it doing field work. About 10 years in High school Bills oldest grandson drove it to school for FFA drive your tractor to school day! It’s a piece of local history that now lives its retirement in the corner of the shed. Every now and then I drive by and the doors are open and you can see it from the highway! Pretty neat old tractor.
Hi, Folks. The enduring beauty of these plow days and other working vintage machinery shows is not that they bring people together but they also take people back to simpler times when you DIDN'T need a computer and an engineering degree to fix a machine. just your own know-how, a few basic tools and the willingness to get your hands dirty. Just my 0.02. You all have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
I talked my friend Fred Etnier from Colfax Iowa to come and participate with his 1030 Case tractor, and he did not hesitate, to show up. A 2300 mile round trip to turn a furrow for 5 hours. It does not get any better than that!
I would love to see drone footage of the plowing. How many tractors and how many bottoms? What was the largest tractor and the smallest? Loved watching them work nice to see the old and new together. Thanks for sharing.
I've never done farming other than messing with my farmer neighbors hogs but I recently got into garden tractors. I don't get how the spectators show up on the 4 wheelers because I'd be on my Economy tractor or my Allis B110 trying hard to get in on the action.
