And now I'm here to witness the theme for Stage 2: Venus Fire! This theme definitely leans more on the action rather than the adventure Just like for stage one, the instrumentation is very rich, every instrument gets a chance to shine; Also, I just feel like there's so much more in your enhancement! Of course, the originals are still fantastic - but your enhancements really make them hit the spot 1:25 Very clever repeating that set of notes to lead us into the expansion! That was such a natural progression~ Percussion solo! 1:55 Got that high-pitched synth again~ I think it juxtaposes very well with the firey background. I have no idea what these instruments are called, but I know I love their sound 2:10 This section just feels so adventurous! 2:30 The original backing track is here! 2:55 And now you have that choir-like pad playing over it in such a perfect harmony 3:15 You hear that? That's the sound of Blast Processing. It's hope in the middle of this Hellscape 3:50 Now things are getting serious!! It definitely fits well from the quick-moving background shown from 4:00 to 4:15. The adrenaline is kicking in. Fire is burning all around. Alien threats from every corner. No way out. No way home. You've got to lock in. It's time to go ALL the way in. 4:30 BEAT DROP! Back to the main melody in another spectacular fashion~ The way you craft musical transitions is just *chef's kiss* absolutely incredible 5:36 These ending notes make for a fitting conclusion to an incredible song I'm not sure how much I'd ever play Thunder Force, since I'm garbage at schmups, but this soundtrack is - pun not intended - fire 🔥 And your spin on them only make them better

I'm a sucker for high-energy, high-intensity music, and any time I see an opening to get the heart racing, I never hesitate to capitalize! For this one, i needed it to be face-blisteringly fast and intense. Judging by your breakdown, I think I nailed it, so thanks!
Greetings, Maestro! Im sorry o was late reacting to this. Anyways, lets get into some more Thunder Force III! Once again, I listened to the original a few times to get a feel before listening to the new one. The richness of your remaster can be heard with every note! That deep bass, the surround sound... as soon as I clicked this video, I INSTANTLY heard a difference. Your instrumentation is so much more pronounced - every instrument and layer can be heard, which gives the whole song a more epic, cinematic feel 1:00 And now the Expansion! Starting off with a fascinating trilling sound that sets the tone for this section. I also like the little "beep boop" rhythm you have going on, for lack of a better term. It gives me a very computerized feel, like we're hearing the console inside the ship 1:20 A sitar-like sound playing along with the trill, I like this alot~ 1:40 There's the main motif playing again, alongside the trill! It's a bit quieter now, because its trying to play along without stealing the show 2:00 I hear that pad slowly getting higher 2:25 Whoa! New section~ I really like the higher pitched synth here! 2:45 Things are getting a bit more intense now! Notes are playing really fast now, like one of those guitar solos 🎸 I love how epic 3:05 Now THIS is epic! Hear all the instruments playing together in a fantastic harmony! It almost makes you forget this is just level 1 3:25 Cooling it down, back to the trill~ 3:45 This section kind of reminds me of Golden Axe~ It definitely sounds triumphant - perhaps the Player has finished up this level at last and can move onto the next 4:05 And now back to the original, such a fantastic transition! My goodness Maestro, you've done it again. And as the other commenters have mentioned, every section still feels like a logical progression of the original song! Just incredible
Hey that's Ok! Glad to hear your take on it, later or sooner. Thanks for the breakdown here too, I really love how meticulous you are. The advantage of re-composing these tracks from scratch is that I'm not limited by the original recordings, so I can really make them breathe. That's the first half of my approach. The second half is to expand, and yes, it's VERY difficult, because if I go too far and deviate from the source material, I disrespect it. However, if I play it too safe, it really doesn't add anything to the song. The objective for me is always to strike a very careful balance, and I think a big part of that comes from respecting the source material and the vision of each composer. it really and truly is a dedication to their hard work and creativity.
@@MaestroDraven Of course! I want to make sure I can appreciate every moment of your creations, especially considering how long these take you to make. It reminds me of the school paradox where you need to be unique but also stick within the given format. It's honestly stunning what you've been able to pull off over these last couple of years, though you did have a lot of practice with Yuzo Koshiro's work, so that definitely had an impact~
These are overall your longest expansions and enhancements yet; congratulations on that! Though, a lot of these ones are light on melody, so you could trim some of the sections without much melody. This one does have a lot more new melodies than the previous one, though.
🔥🔥"Venus Fire," 🔥🔥I believe, is the best song on the Thunder Force III soundtrack, and the one I remember the most, with it's blistering-fast BPM, machine gun tom fills and lush sci-fi synthesizer work. I wanted it to be perfect, so I took the time to painstakingly recreate this song, note-for-note, with all the subtle pitch-bending and vibrato that the original is so well known for. Next came the expansion, and I knew it had to bring the fire, while still sounding like a completely natural and logical addition to the original song. The result is, I think, a success, and whether you agree or disagree, I do hope you'll all join me on this sonic thrill ride! Let's turn up the volume and have some fun!
One of the few MaestroDraven mixes that I like less than the original. Keep up the good work, my friend! The SoR2 full mix has been on repeat on my difficult training runs lately. Amazing mix top to bottom! 💪
@maestrodraven @iceferno I love you guys you tap into the heart n soul of what made the 80s/90s VG tunes special im 46 and all you guys tunes based on the Genesis/megadrive sound chip is amazing. You not only expanded on but created your own material and trandscended into a lifeforce on your own merits both of you. The megadrive lives on Makes me wana cry tears of joy ❤❤❤❤❤❤

The vocal sample is from Move Any Mountain by The Shamen, which is the song Yuzo Koshiro took inspiration from to write this song. It says "bang to the beat of the drum. We gonna move any mountain, you know we gonna get some!"
I don't know why but the bulldozer song just kicks absolute ass. I've listened to so many remixes of it and every single one of them is straight fire just like this one. Streets of Rage has always had beastly music, so much so that it's hard to even pick your poison but Bulldozer stands out. 😁
