Absolutely nailed it! Correctly pulling from the bottom of the roll in the correct direction, showing proper tension.. i always tell my guys to run the tape on the fitting in the direction like your threading it into its junction. while looking at the end of the fitting/start of the threads wrapping the tape from bottom of the roll in clockwise direction so the tape tightens down in the direction threads are cut. always be sure to leave the first thread or two untaped so it doesnt end up in the junction if removed
The black rubber line that attaches to the right side of the carb is actually the impulse line. Air from the cylinder pulses through it to actuate the fuel pump membrane which brings in fuel from the tank through the black line that attaches to the left side of the carb.
You actually did ot properly. Two to three wraps max! I see "plumbers" put six or seven wraps on, so thick you cant see the threads. Then when they thread the fitting, all the tape gets puahed back. Teflon is a lubricant. Its meant to allow NPT threads to get tighter. If the threads leak, replace the fittings, not add more tape.
Also make sure to do what he did at the end, and rub the tape a bit into the threads. It really does help make a nicer seal and helps it thread in easier
Straighten it out like string, count 2-3 threads back. Place the stringed tape into the grooves, and fill 3 threads back. Do m.h ot break the tape, instead flatten it out and wrap 2-3 layers towards the 1st thread.... This will bevel the tape and create a wedge against the water pressure from the female side
Thank you for your Video and for hosting the informative comments. I have Stihl MS261-C which I've had for 10 years now. it's not my day job so my use is intermittent but I have done considerable firewood cutting with it. until recently it started beautifully and last week wouldn't start so I watched several videos, including yours and bought a replacement cab kit for £32.00 However, after reading the comments and also looking at the cleaning the air cleaner video by the femalelumberjack I c ompared the totally blocked up original air cleaner with the cheap replacement with about 1/10 of the surface area due to no folds in the filtering surface. I decided not to replace the car, but cleaned lots of parts of the saw especially the air filter. Starts first pull just like new. I have now ordered from a proper parts supplier replacement air filter, gas filter and several other bits that looked worn. The RU-vid videos I watched, including yours gave me the confidence to take it apart and with some patients I managed to get it back together and working. Thank you again best wishes. Hello, Miss Understood here, thank you so much for the comment. Sadie, my black and tan coonhound is the best co-host in the world. Never a dull moment with her around. Have a great day!
The hard stomp on the ground is also symbolic. The Evzones while marching stomp shoes hard on the marble ground so the unknown dead of the Nation can hear. Today, during their departure from the Monument in the absolute silence that prevails, the stomp can also been seen as representing the new beginning of Hellenism
You weren't kidding. This a major pain to do. Have to work on it again next weekend because the yellow clip broke off and I ran out of daylight and patience.
It's crazy how difficult this can be. Squeezing your arm in a space not made for it, then twisting and threading a needle with 2 fingers and no sight is how it is. Good luck, hope this helped!
@@captainandmissunderstood lol yep was the resistor, changed it after I first commented $25. But I meant the blower wouldn't turn/twist to come off when I was trying one from a donor truck. It was the tab keeping it locked smh but I didn't need a blower
well I guess we've all replaced the wrong part before, thinking it was the problem when it was something else. I guess it's still better than paying someone else to replace the wrong part! Cheers!
I haven’t tested that aside from just a few days. It’s going to depend on several things (quality of water to start with etc) but since it’s been boiled it seems like it’ll keep a bit. Sorry but I’m just guessing at this point. I haven’t saved it longer than a few days/batches
Captain and Miss Understood, I tried your recipe and followed step by step. My husband doesn’t care for bagels, but he absolutely loved these. It is so much easier than I ever expected and so delicious. I used wheat flour instead of white and will make with white flour next. Thank you for sharing your recipe and secrets!
Yes you can use wheat, they just might not end up the same texture as wheat tends to be looser. Just make sure to let it knead...15 minutes or more til it's as silky smooth as possible.
In the professional kitchen we all have things we call “flat tops.” They do a lot of cooking. It’s neat to see a home version of one. I may need to get one as well.
In restaurants people will always say “opa!” When someone drops something on the floor and makes a loud noise (typically plates or glasses) I think it’s to take the edge off since it’s really embarrassing for the person that does it.
Most knives are not dull (unless that have been banging around in a drawer). Instead, the typically have rolled edges or burrs. To check the edge for roll over burrs by dragging a finger nail perpendicular to the edge. If the finger nail detects a bump or resistance, the edge has rolled. Use a knife steel to straighten the roll (or flip it to the other side). This will require several strokes. Check the edge each time until no burr is detected. Then check the other side for burrs. Burrs and flattened areas of the edge can be seen by holding the edge at an angle under light and turning the knife left to right. Any reflection from the edge indicates a dull spot. 1000 grit will remove a small amount of metal. So, if the knife is severely dull, it will require many more strokes (depending on the knife steel). To fix the broken tip you can reprofile it by stroking the spine at the tip on non-aggregate concrete (like a concrete paver brick). This will grind the spine toward the tip. You shape it how you want the spine to drop.
Thanks for the input! The added information will no doubt help others too. I don’t have the equipment to reprofile the knife so I’ll just keep using it so I can give Miss Understood a hard time 😂
Thank you for sharpening the knives. I was able to cut that fresh loaf of bread you made and a slice of tomato that cut perfectly. I had a great sandwich for lunch. Good job Captain!!
Dude have some chill. I am a chef and have been sharpening my knives my entire career. My knives are what help me pay the bills. He does a great job explaining how he gets to the results he needs. When you sharpen by hand, you will get your own style. It’s a very personal thing. We can all still learn from each other because we are still doing this by hand and not by machine. When I first learned to sharpen by hand it was from Murray Carter. I think that he is top of the class. But even with that said, as a person that owns more high end knives than I can admit without feeling embarrassed and is a chef by profession, I think it's still fun learning about what other people do in the home kitchen. I do have natural water stones but these days I feel good about the working edge I get from using solid stainless steel DMT plates where water is optional, there is no steel it won’t cut, and it is perfectly flat. Keep on doing what you do
Well, this is the simplest and easiest method I've heard. So much about angles, metal types, etc. on the web and in magazines that often conflict and are always complicated. Your's is simple and will result in more sharpening which is the key, I'm guessing. So, without risk if getting stabbed by your wife with a broken tipped ancient Henckle, I'm going with your method.
