This might be one of the first times I've ever heard Syn sing the bridge all by himself, normally since they started touring again last year he's been singing the first few lines alone and then Matt joins in for the rest of it but it shows how much he's grown as a vocalist in his own right in recent years.
3:35 oh my god he took all those high notes like the studio version, because so far when it comes to the live version he definitely improvised on that part.❤
I don't care what you think.... This is peak Shadows era. This is the most mature, versatile, and most importantly safe his vocals have ever been. Yes he could do better screams 15 years ago, yes he was more distorted and more " beautiful sounding " but that was 15 years ago. And that's what got him the injury in 2018. YEARS of unsafe techniques and overusing his voice. Im so happy that im enjoying this era so much.
Agreed, we may never have ear-shattering high-register screams anymore like 2008-2011, but he can definitely sustain those clean high notes now, with a safe technique and clearer sounding. HE NEVER did those bridge high notes fully before, it was always improvised and with the help of The Rev. But now he just fcking did all of it and never even transitioned into lower register.
His peak voice 2011-2014 won’t be topped but his vocals are so much better than they were in 2017 and 2018 and it’s lovely to hear. I also love how he relies on Zacky, Johnny and especially gates backing vocals to help out more than they used to. It really adds so much to the band as everyone has a beautiful voice
@@ghost06official7 i think his voice is better now than it ever was back in 2014. Back then he wasnt hitting all these highs that he can now due to his new technuqie
Being objective, Matt singing technique is at the best it has ever been. We can argue if we like the tone of the 2008/10 era better, but he never hit those high notes like he does now
objectively matt is still best from 2005-07, city of evil is his best album by far his best technique, but he didn't really show much of it, he went for that super nasal placement which ended up putting alot of people off and most people without trained ear or trained vocalists didnt even notice how good he was. but his technique then is by far his best, and his technique is still good but its not his fault that he don't sound like he used to, his vocal chords have just thinned out, still the same technique but his vocal chords just don't vibrate together like they used to, its more of a physical thing than a technique thing. touring and surgery + aging will do alot to the voice
@@triplej8666yeah his voice is holding up pretty damn well considering everything he went through and multiple technique changes. He sure can't scream with high register anymore but he can sustain those clearer high notes now, like you said, almost the same way just like his City of Evil era high notes.
