Love this piece of broom cupboard retro, have you found any footage of 80's kids TV show: Erasmus Microman with Ken Campbell?? I last saw it on TV when Nick Pickard was on that programme: You Saw Them Here First in 2014! My friend did record it for me as had SKY TV and w as then ging to put it on a blank DVD for me but his dad deleted it by mistake 🙄 Can find some of other episodes on RU-vid but not all of them....

This came out exactly when I was two-as it is on my birthday-I have obviously seen this before and repeats on TV documentaries etc My first memories is when I was onwards so June of 1984 onwards! I remember when I saw David Essex in the hit musical Mutiny in late in 1986-and remember begging my dad to take me when I saw the TV adverts for it + for the soundtrack + pics in Mags/reviews about it in papers, Teletext etc The 80's were such a great time-I don't suppos you have come across 80's kids TV series: Erasmus Microman with Ken Campbell-loved that!

The music on the promo at 2:42 is Superstar by Keith Mansfield. YTV used this again a few years later with different promo graphics. The 'Turn to Yorkshire' campaign was accompanied by badges and window stickers which I picked up from one of their local offices!

Left and right are out by a millisecond. That doesn't sound a lot but that puts a 500hz wave out of phase. In Audaucity split left and right to mono, normalise them and then find a spikey bit of waveform and line them up. Also, there is no point preserving stereo from a recording that wasn't stereo in the first place. Can't you get your VCR to pickup and output just basic mono, and maybe that will stop the crackling that is evident on other videos?
