I have had my Laguiole knife a year or so now, and I enjoy using it, it is well made and beautifully designed. Mine was not well finished however, it had not seen quality control. That was disappointing. There was a ding in the edge of the blade, and the plates to each side of the spring had jagged burrs along their edges. Since I am a blacksmith these faults were not difficult to remedy, and I chose to finish the knife myself. I do wonder if it is cheaper to have a returns facility than an adequate quality control system ... This knife should NEVER have left the factory If Laguiole wish to present as a high quality manufacturer, they need to walk the walk as well as they talk the talk. As a smith, I put half an hour extra into everything I made, that did all my talking for me. Have the accountants staged a coup ?
Ohhhh boy, is that a stunner or what!!! Beautiful, to say the least!!!❤ I have purchased several French made knives from you guys....this one is, of course, "the cream on top"😮❤😮
These kinds of knives originally aren't for cutting works but for self defense/duels. Europe/Italy... maybe 1500 (they was much bigger ~ 40cm/16inch) Search :"scherma con coltello italiana" or "scherma a lama corta"
The most beautifull and elegant shape of all the Laguiole knife manufacturers. The decoration too is kept to a reasonable level without becoming over the top and vulgar. I bought one in 1998 and it's still going strong.
