I asked my mom for a Kobe jersey the day before he died and when I woke up and ate breakfast I saw on the news he died. I was so shocked and sad because he’s the reason why I play basketball and still do
Im not a huge fan of basketball but there is something special when someones death can affect an entire community in the same way. That means that person was something special.
I just woke up sitting at the breakfast table when my mom told me about it and I couldn’t believe it, looked up on my phone to confirm the news and the first thing in my head was “is any other nba player on board too?”
Man I remember exactly where I was when I heard this news and I can’t even begin to describe the overwhelming sadness and shock that came over me and all of us. The world froze, like it was nothing any of us could’ve even imagined happening. People like Kobe you can never imagine something some tragic and unpredictable happening to them. He didn’t get to complete so many tasks he wanted to, he didn’t get to see Giana make it to the wnba and become a legend like her father, he didn’t get to see his baby girls grow up. The world hasn’t been the same without them now here we are 4 years later still living in Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s memory. Rest in peace Mamba & Mambacita 💛💜
I remember this day clearly. I was at church, and my dad went on his phone. A few seconds later, he was in disbelief. He told everyone in the church about this. No one understood what was going on. We got home and watched the news. And it was hell.
i remember when this happened. iraqis families being massacred in the streets, they tried to flee but there was a helicopter shortage to get them all out. clearly remember wtahcing the videos of kids and dads getting shot up in the street. while the celebrity athlete rode to his soccer games in his private helicopters. and the masses mourned him but not the other thousands of individuals suffering in their own home. i think that shows a lot of humanity.
Dolla $ign was getting a haircut, I was getting off a plane in Doha airport, everyone turned their phones back on and people started talking to each other about it, complete strangers united in their love of a legend........ that news hit everyone out of the mf blue, it was just a random day, nothing crazy happening, truly a FREAK accident caused by FOG of all things, the pilot was even forewarned that there would be fog and conditions wouldn't be ideal, decided to fly anyway
It was on a Sunday I was literally in 24 hours fitness playing basketball in the gym it was just me and another dude in the gym, he was shooting on the other end of the court. Suddenly I heard him scream WTF and walk out. I was like dang what’s wrong with dude. 20 mins later I checked my phone and went home instantly 😢
