I think maybe there was a misunderstanding in what I was saying. I wasn’t saying projects are getting cancelled. My worry was that projects that were announced that I was excited for wouldn’t get greenlit and therefore be cancelled. That’s why I also mentioned in the episode things could still move forward but in a different capacity. Ie we’re probably gonna get the paradise lost show BUT it might not end up being the game-of-throne-esque story I was interested in seeing
DC is its own studio now, James and Peter decided what gets greenlit, not WB. So no reason to fear of anything being cut or canceled. Everything he announced is still in development and getting made, but it’s only in production once a script is turned in. For example he didn’t include Booster Gold because even tho they announced the team developing it. Until the script is done it’s not greenlit which means given a budget to build the sets and begin casting. Superman wasn’t even Greenlit yet when he announced it cause he was still writing the script. Same reason he didn’t say Matt reeves Batman is greenlit cause the script isnt done.
Greenlit means you have a script by James definition. Don't make it harder that it needs to be. From my understanding one of the main complaints from directors is a lot of times movies start production and start shooting and the 3rd act is not finished or ever finished being written; leaving the director to figure it out. My guess is James is trying to come off as director friendly to attract top talent.
I don't know cinematography but it as a muted or gritty feel that Winter Soldier and Civil War had. Doesn't feel as bright. I think that's a good change over the landscapes of The Marvels and Ant Man
Gee, wiz, another remake, what a shocker! I'll just keep watching the Sean Connery one thank you. And I don't like what Taika Waititi did to the MCU Thor (Love and Thunder was the worst Super Hero move of all time) so I'll definitely pass.
To one as old as I am (I read LotR when there was only a crappy animated movie **shakeswalkingcane** ) the whole art style and look of this movie look so early 90s animation - think "Record of D&D..err Lodoss War" or "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" but I'm for some strange reason convinced it won't be a collection of very lightly animated beautiful drawings like the original RoLW OVA was🤣. But this style looks *so* beautiful and "mature", especially when contrasted with how anime looks currently and across the last decade and a half with the crappy Shonen inspired styles and crappy Harem-esque huge eyes and flat faces... *mopemope* ^^ Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
Honestly I think if someone didn’t care about the movie this news wasn’t gonna change their decision. And I don’t know how many people will stop going because of this. If people don’t go it’s because marvel has been… let’s just say disappointing lately
I definitely hope we see Cheetah, that character was done dirty in WW84. Goodness and the Furies would be cool, they could set up a Darkseid story with other DC heroes. I would be down for that
@@newwavenerds This game has alot of potential, im going to keep my fingers crossed despite everyone saying the development is “troubled”. Alot of fans are really anticipating this game I bet it will still be amazing not perfect but still 🙂⭐️✨
1. Trevante Rhodes As John Stewart/Green Lantern 2. Milo Ventimiglia As Hal Jordan/Green Lantern 3. Luke Evans As Sinestro 4. Mandy Moore As Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire 5. Kevin Grevioux As Atrocitus 6. Terry Crews As Kilowog 7. Benjamin Bratt As Hector Hammond
Okay okay, I like what I'm hearing. Luke Evans as Sinestro would be really interesting. I'm not too familiar with his work, so my mind always goes straight to Bard from the Hobbit. Terry Crews as Kilowog is both hilarious and amazing, I must see it
I'm still holding out hope. There's been more than enough bad projects, but there's still been a few gems in my book. I really enjoyed Andor S1 and hope they can continue that level of storytelling in 2
One theory I may have is that the kids are a product of cloning. Cloning, while done legally to make the clone army in the future, may be some sort of jedi "sin" to clone force sensitive beings. This then leads into the technology where they are trying to clone Grogu and then eventually clone Palpatine.
That would be pretty cool, it would certainly mitigate my complaints about conception using the force. And would also make the reveal of RoS a little less lame. If this is the route they go with it, I would've liked some small hints or easter eggs in the background that imply that. Something really subtle that most people would miss, but upon second watch it's obvious. The hallmark of a good mystery
mark canton, gianni nunnari, bernhard goldmann, jeffrey silver and zack snyder are contemptible, despicable, disgusting, nauseating, and vomiting. Lie after lie. They completely changed history and made the movie and TV series based on absolute BS. As a matter of fact, they show their own ancestors history and characters under the name of the Persian Empire and King. That movie and TV series is a political movement against the 7,000-year history and civilization that Hollywood people never had. Jealousy and a lack of basic morals and humanity are the causes of that. Unfortunately, there are many dishonest losers who wiggle like parasite worms in Hollywood.
I understand what you're saying about using an unnamed character as lead but I would counter that it gives the writers somewhat more freedom to create new content while still telling the larger 'known' tale. She might become a new fan favorite but regardless, the writers will be more protected from "runining" a known/beloved character. I know this didn't work so well with the character of Tauriel in the Hobbit films but in that case, she was 'shoehorned' into a beloved story while this will be a fresh tale. I'm hoping for the best! Thanks for the video!
@@pal8h I hear you, for sure! But at least this project involves someone we trust (Boyens) and not someone who we had absolutely no history with [Hedlund (Acolyte)]. I'll continue to be (more) hopeful here.
Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you liked it! And that’s a fair point. A good example is Ahsoka in Star Wars. She came out of nowhere (with kind of a rocky start in the Clone Wars movie) and has since become one of my favorite characters in the universe
@@pal8h my worry is that the character doesn’t feel like a Tolkien character. Like she could be very well written and still feel out of place in the universe. But that being said I agree with @Selrahc_69 about being hopeful for the movie
Nymeria is one of my favorit characters in the entire lore of asoiaf and the Roynar my favorit culture. I'm very happy with these but also scary. That would be by far the most expencive series. The scale of the war, the jorney for those diferent places, that's a lot to put in a series.
Oh yeah, I think it can be super epic, but the budget is definitely a worry. Hopefully HotD Season 2 will be received really well so they can afford those 300 dragons and the massive raft city!
It doesn't make sence for they to foucus on the dragons, the Valyria are just the frist big villians of Nymeria story. They kill two of them, one fly away wounded and than they send those 300 dragons to destroy the Roynar arm.
That's true. I guess my hope is just that they focus mostly on the voyage and their time in Dorne, and I'm a little worried that the studio execs will say "put more dragons in, that's what the people want to see"
Okay so regarding your criticism about the dragons, I actually think they strike the perfect balance of the use of dragons in both GoT and House of the Dragon. In both shows, the dragons are used so rarely. Dragon's aren't overplayed at all. I mean we see them a lot in House of the Dragon, but it's like a brief moment in each episodes besides during battles. Even during the battles when dragons are used, most of the battle is won on foot and with strategy and all that. We are definitely going to see a lot of dragons in House of the Dragon, but the primary battles in HotD are political and social. So I don't think dragons are overplayed at all.
That's a fair point. Considering Dragon is in the title of the show, we do see only see them for a short time. I guess my complaint was more that I felt like the intrigue aspect of the story was underutilized. But that being said, at the time of the recording I was only halfway through the first season of HotD and starting in episode six there's a lot more of that. I do also have to remind myself that HotD has a much smaller cast so it's harder to have all of the interweaving storylines. Thanks for your comment and insight, it was really helpful!
I've heard a lot of people say that the reason he's taking so long is because of the negative reaction to the show. I obviously don't know if that's true (only George does), but hopefully it means we'll get a better ending than what Benioff and Weiss gave us
@@newwavenerds His career just took off and he's taking advantage of all of the other opportunities that are very time sensitive. I'd take time off writing the 5th book to do other things too. No one stays this famous for long. It always ends. He's enjoying it while he can and taking the opportunities coming at him. But that being said, 13 or 14 years to write this god damn book is ridiculous.
@@newwavenerds I'm sure he'd understand that the negative reception wasn't because of the end-point itself, but because of the rushed and nonsensical path to get there. He said in an interview that they could have done 12-13 seasons, so he knows better than anyone just how rushed the ending was.
Looks really cool. I’ve listened to an interview with the writers on Nerd of the Rings, and I’m very excited. Some of the original writers from the trilogy, and they all express a deep love and respect for Tolkien’s work.
Oh, it just happens like that? Doing anything creative not only involves actively working on it, but also requires subconscious buildup. There is no such thing as "complete story", because you can change it all the time. It is matter of how it fits to the rest. And that's not a linear process than can be quantified. You can't force your mind and find a part that you are going to enjoy. Using any part that's subpar fit is subpar storytelling, which GRRM isn't doing.
@@yokunjon Yeah he's definitely crafted an amazing story so far, and I know that he's mentioned in the past that he writes like a gardener tending the roses, nurturing the story as it unfolds itself. I love the books, so it's just a little bit frustrating that we've had to wait so long. I joked about him putting it off until he passes because my real fear is based on the fact that he was born three years after the end of WWII, and there's two more books left. It's out of my love for the series that I complain about the thirteen year wait
@@newwavenerds Yeah, I understand, I'm also saddened by the fact that we probably won't see 7th book from GRRM himself. I was replying to "finish the damn books" part because it was unrelated to the video context 😅
