I used to live in Ettrick many years ago. I used to get some excellent hand cream made by a chemist in Selkirk called Borthwick. Wonder if the shop is still there?
Gokidd2008 This is an example of the shifter for a manual Scania www.en.bildelsbasen.se/global/images/image.php?src=/mnt/newftp/145/bil/lgnr/978891_3.jpg&width=370&height= The lever for the thumb is for high/low, and on the front of the shifter further down there is another lever for "range" which you use to decide if you want gears 1,2,3 or 4,5,6, hope it helps
Cheers Ian. Shame about the bushes in the way but was raining quite heavily outside as you can see from the video so the raindrops would just keep settling on the lens if I had gone out.
got to be some of the best roads and scenery in the uk,cops aint bad either compared to southern police.even when weathers terrible it just gets more exciting lol.Cool video thanks!,happy trucking!!
It's the plan mate.. should they won't be every week but should have a couple coming up here and there. I mostly do nightshift at the moment so there's nothing to record and with it not getting light until 9am it's a little hard.
2:22 - 5:49 area? - are those the flats you see from the M74? There are around 7 of them, its a landmark for me when I glance right as I head to Glasgow or wherever. They have a distinctive look. Without reading other comments, or knowing what you drive, I just knew this was a DAF, partly by engine sound, but also the horn sound. I've spent many hours in the City Link Hub Coventry, and know the Daf horn all to well...lol Nice one Sam
Quite honestly I'm not sure if those are the flats you see but I know which ones you are talking about Paul. The area is Wishaw, Lanarkshire and it sure was a CF! Lovely little trucks.
TruckingDiaries The flats you initially seen from the M74 are technically in Motherwell, some may say Wishaw, but Muirhouse (where the flats and towers are) is on the border of Wishaw and Motherwell.
I did a ride along in the cab with a 8mm video camcorder a couple of years ago but never been able to put it on to my PC to upload and now i only have the tapes and no camcorder. If i do get one i will post it. In answer to your concern about my vids i don't care!!! Thanks for liking them.
Waw I feel stupid...... As a all time car lover and young mechanic I should have noticed + myself and all of my family owns fords due to my uncles discount haha! lol I'm ashamed in myself, Sorry buddy:)
No it isn't... There was a few times where the camera went down a little, revealing parts of the Vauxhall Logo. Also, even though there dashboards on both cars are similar, I've owned and driven for a good while both of the cars - and can tell the difference! :P
The places this job takes you is amazing. Since this video, I've gone on to pass both my C and CE and one of the huge highlights of the job is indeed the sights you see. (Note that the video upload date does not actually reflect when it was recorded.)
Sorry my other comment was meant to say that I was 18 in that video, 19 now and turning 20 soon. When I passed they said I was one of the youngest license holders on the register.. not sure if anyone has managed to take my place yet though ahah.
he ia heart you can make mods for euro truck simulator like you did for kerails can you make a video how you maked that skin for kerails or send me a email with the instructions email davide-1998@live.nl
Hi :) Sorry I don't really understand your comment. This video was recorded using an "iPhone" and not a GoPro :) All videos from now on will be very still and not shaky like this one. :)
How would you record the camera "Go Pro" as the previous two movies that would be great and all that viewed these cool videos of the routes, Greetings from Polish :)
If you listen carefully, you can hear me clicking the "Splitter" switch at 31 seconds into the video, and then at 34-35 you can see me dipping the clutch and just about hear a gear change. All without moving the stick. After this is complete you must deactivate the splitter switch because if you change gear without doing that you will end up in the "high" gear of the next gear you're going to, and possibly hinder your progress. Hope this makes sense.
This truck here is a 4 over 4. So presumably you know the basics but I'll run through anyway to make it clearer. 1-4 are like on a car, except 1 is just straight forward, you don't push to the left then up it's straight forward. So if you imagine 1-6 on a car, the 1 is where 3 would be. 1-2-3-4, then you flick you range change switch, 1st becomes 5th, 2nd becomes 6th and so on. But the other switch when activated give you a half gear. You flick the switch and dip the clutch and it gives a gear.
I understand how one thru six work, and then how seven there nine work. but where does the slpitter in come? the truck i was tought on only had the low six, high three, and a single reverse gear. thank you and safe travels
