It’s 2024, I’m 72, my husband is 74, and we’ve been privileged to have lived through the greatest period of rock imaginable. The talent on that stage is immense - and I include everyone in that.
Way to go, gentlemen I’m not very wasted and I am at home, but I think this song is memorable and archetypal really even if it’s not about being mashed or something at the pub, it could be interpreted different ways. It could be interpreted that if you’re wasting your vital energy on things that aren’t important, you don’t have the same basic homing device which I guess is the hearts connection to the spirit or something. But kudos for this I am for all the good emotions that the music of Traffic has given me over the years and even the solo projects of course, being from the East Coast I like Eric Clapton quite a lot as well. I was a little young at the beginning of your careers, but by the time I was 15 to 17 I was a record collector. All the best. By the way, Steve Winwood, I would love to respectfully say that I think your daughters music is very very cool and very precious and it was fun to watch it. Come out a few years ago when I had better Internet connections and stuff but really that’s inspiring too and I love to see, the music evolved and it happens through the generations, of course but I can tell that she takes after her father and frankly it made me feel proud. I’ll try to check out more of her music. I also Today synchronistically discovered that the lead singer from big country that I’ve always admired actually has a daughter who is doing some great music and listening to her music made me feel so wonderful today that I’m really in a mode of celebration during this beautiful harvest home happy August, it’s the best time in the summer often I think. Have fun.
Saw JJ Cale in Bloomington Indiana in the early 80s...the Indiana University students must not have known who he was because it was a small crowd. One of the best performances I've ever seen. Cale's guitar work was subtle and great - Mark Knopfler must have studied Cales riffs etc. RIP JJ.
I was at that show, he is an amazing talent. Brought back some great memories. When the sun set it got very cold, but I didn’t feel a thing after he started.
So much going on.....the drummer Is great....nothing flashy....just stays right in that pocket....I know how much Clapton loved playing with jj....especially the ones that nobody has ever heard these versions before....and then ...Christine....I heard it explained once as why alot of throbbed horses have a goat as their friend to keep them calm....Chris was JJs goat.....she kept him calm...he was so much fun to watch...R.I.P. buddy....thanks for some amazing music
