This is a channel where we can discuss movies, TV shows, etc. I am going to recommend films, shows, and videos that I've enjoyed and we can chat about them in the comments. I really enjoy hearing others perspectives on movies and television shows. I always find out new things that I missed when I watched. Also, sometimes I dont understand the plot and welcome those who can break it down for me.
Lets have some fun discussions. I look forward to hearing from you.
I felt the same way about Robin Givens. That she played the role of this dominant, poised, shot-calling, alpha-female so well that I often wondered "is this her real personality". She is the epitome of an actress. You should watch her in "The Women of Brewster Place" (1989) starring her and Oprah. We appreciated much of the same elements about the film: wardrobe, soundtrack, cast, comedy, plot/storyline and the fact that it was based in NY in the 90s. I liked takeaway message you got from the film. The message I got from it was to treat people the way you want to be treated. Marcus didn't treat women very well (i.e. his neighbor Tisha Cambell's character) and so he wasn't treated very well in return -- boomerang. There was also a point about crossing friendships (Marcus/Gerard and Angela/Jaqueline) and levels to loyalty and character that was a poignant undertone to the movie that I personally zoomed in on. Marcus pursued Angela despite knowing his good friend Gerard had feelings for her and Angela coupled with Marcus despite knowing Jaqueline was involved with him. And then the bond between Marcus and Angela is even crossed -- boomerang.
I watched The Women of Brewster Place a long time ago. It was great. I believe Leon was on that one as Robin’s love interest. She is a great actress and such a beautiful woman. I def can relate to what you got out of the movie Boomerang . Those friendships def weren’t balanced.
I'm currently reading the book, and watching the series at the same time. I love this show. It's so hard to find a good show to watch, but this, and Interview With The Vampire are truly excellent.
There's so much about this series to hypothesize about. Carol seemed to be reeling in Rusty. My theory is Rusty isn't her only lover. I think the medical examiner perhaps set him up with the evidence. Perhaps he was a previous lover of hers.
I like that theory! My mind never went there. I keep thinking Tommy Molto has something to do with it. He’s so creepy lol. But, he’s so obvious, so it may be someone else. I was even wondering about the sons.
@@thevirgogirlchannel carol even though she’s the victim isn’t a sympathetic character. She tampered evidence. She hasn’t been painted in a good light throughout this series.
Very true! And why didn’t she want her son in her life? That’s suspicious. She definitely had some skeletons in her closet. We need more details on why she tampered w that evidence.
It was indeed a true story. Richard Gadd, the guy who wote & starred in the main role. He wrote about himself. Incredible TV series. The acting was different level. I thought the trans actress was very good also.
It was really hard to believe that it was a true story. It was so heartbreaking at some points. The acting was amazing across the board. They all exceeded my expectations.
This movie really touched me; I completely understand what Ennis was feeling. Even 25-30 years ago, despite my country not having religious issues with homosexuality and society being somewhat accepting, it was still hard to reveal your true self because of the social norms that confined you. At that time, I had some girls come into my life, but I am now happy that I listened to my heart. They are all married and now have good lives. I think I am lucky to live in a time of worldwide acceptance of diversity. My boyfriend and I have lived together for 18 years as of this April 30th. I wish Heath Ledger was still here; his performance was so phenomenal. 😢
The climate of this movie is where Jake Gyllenhaal screamed. I wish I knew how to quick you. Every word came from mouth was so moving, full of emotion, full of hate, full of love. He made Heath Ledger cried; he made me cried. I like to thank the director, he knew how to set the scene.
It's Feli-shaa not Feli-see-ahh I know because I rerecorded all the audio for my own Maestro video because i was saying see-ahh 😂 For me I wouldn't go as far as using the word masterpiece but i do think it was very good and I think you nailed what it was all about in your review. I will subscribe )
