I came across these downhill races earlier this year whilst looking for early MTB racing from the states. At seventy year of age I am well beyond taking these courses on, and at that altitude I doubt I could breathe. What is obvious right up front is that to do well in these races skill and fitness levels need to be really high what is even more obvious is that many competitors really dont have either of these attributes. They are little more than tourists, It is easy to see why they want to participate but maybe there aught to be a separate race for for the also rans. I note there are qualification races but their application to the start grid appears to be arbitrary.
Love it. Great trail after a few happy hour beers in the bar above the lift. If this was the uk im sure someone with a chainsaw would have cleared them fallen trees by now.
Hi Jack Are you able to go under the 2.1 hight barriers on car parks with the roof light fitted, I have a traffic and want to fit one, but I also need to use the car parks with barriers, Cheers Bob
Good show brother!!! I was really impressed when you did the big climb where everyone is cheering everyone on, your cardio work really shined with that big push near the end of it. New subscriber here my friend.
Hey man. love the van videos. just wondering, how was the noise before you took the plywood out?? I imagine that having the bare metal shell makes it much noisier than having the ply still in??
It rode really well. That's the price you pay for having a smaller battery. Hopefully I will get the chance to test the new Whyte E-Lyte and Santa Cruz Heckler SL in the near future so will make some vids on those when I get a chance.
This trail looks absolutely breathtaking! Especially with the views of the mountains, the whole thing looks like such an amazing journey! The summit was well worth the trip, I imagine.
Hey Darbus! It was cool, I love being out in the mountains! It's a long old walk but worth it. It did feel like an achievement getting to the summit, even if we couldn't see much up there 😂
It's a good laugh, it was pretty tough to ride on this year though because of how soft and slushy it was! There was a lot more snow this year than there was last year too.
The gopro was on the peak of my helmet. I can't help breathing heavily, thats just how I ride in those conditions, if you don't like it turn the volume down!
AWESOME JACK It would be really interesting if you wore a heart rate monitor and that data was on the screen. so I could relate the breathing effort and heart rate
Hi jack kingman, do you still have the raw footage? At moment 5.28 in you video i am the guy with the red bleu shirt about to drop in the ski slope. At that moment you did a small edit so i wonder iff you have footage off me going down the ski slope 😃. Cool you also did the mega. I am thinking about doing it again next year😃
Back in the day, nothing like sleeping under a tin roof in the rain! Still, if I decide to tear down my van, reckon I would put in the sound insulation, too.
Yeah, the van was already ply-lined when I got it so I just screwed the ply back on over the top of the insulation in the same holes with self tapping screws.
