I picked this song to play on repeat in late 2008 when I tried to end my life with a massive overdose. As consciousness faded I sent a goodbye text to a friend who I knew would be asleep as it was almost midnight and I wanted my body to be found before there was an odor. Lucky for me, she wasn’t asleep and I woke up in the ICU late the next day. It was a long struggle but I was ultimately successfully treated for my severe depression and have now been in remission for several years. I now have a successful career and a happy marriage (having escaped from an extremely abusive situation that led in no small part to the event of that night). This song is now an anthem of hope and rebirth for me. If anyone reading this is having similar feelings of hopelessness, do yourself and those who love you a favor and call 988. Don’t try to make a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And all problems are temporary.
I was lucky enough to have grown-up in an era with the best of the best, in music, art, Harley's, cars, you name it, Thank you God you are my King and I am ever so grateful for all your blessings.
I love Ric but most of the videos seem to focus on him. The rest of the band members were just as important as Ric. Take any one of them out of The Cars and The Cars aren’t The Cars.

Estoy de acuerdo que Rick interpretó la mayoría de las canciones que compuso, pero, las que interpretó Benjamín... Realmente una voz profunda y grave cuando lo requería y también tenía una voz suave, clara y dulce cuando cantaba baladas, prueba de ello Drive. No comprendo cómo la gente confunde la voz de Ben con la de Rick. Siempre recordaré a ésta banda, especialmente al adorable Benjamín. Que descansen en paz. Rick y Ben.
Boomer singers were much better than younger singers especially millennials and up, that's everyone born 1980 and up. The 90's and up sucked for music. The Reagan era had the best music. I like 70's and 80's music. Some of my classmates wore rock band shirts in junior high like Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, Poison, Megadeth, etc. it was the late 80's.
