Bought one in Australia, 2nd gen 2024. Only two issues I've found straight up: first is that the transitions from stopped to slow are jerky both up and down, fwd and reverse. I was surprised at that, I would have thought that electric control would make that simpler than for belts or hydrostatics. Second is that you're perched up a long way from the ground. I know that that is because of the CC design inheritance, but hopefully later versions that have fully adapted to electric will be able to bring the centre of gravity down.
Thanks for your video! There're 2 things to me, that makes your video stand above the rest: 1) it's straight and to the point, no blah blah and burying the lead like other messed-up RU-vidrs, 2) and this is the 'biggest thing', it's NOT vertical video! 👏👍
I've enjoyed this mower (no issues), but it's not worth $3599. I don't think CC changed anything since 2021. Same battery, no suspension, no armrest, 4 mph max.
Hi Matt's, i have problem with my mower, it turn on, but does not move, the dealer fix four times but the problem return again , again...do you know how reset the computer or erase the error code E104 please?
Cleaning grass clippings under the mowing deck. I finally figured out how. Since you should never spray water under the mowing deck of an electric because of the battery and components, I ran my CC30E up on the yellow car ramps I have and engaged the brake. Then I could reach the mowing deck to clean it. Also, when I use a leaf blower to clean grass off the mower itself, I put the mower on the driveway and aim the leaf blower at the pavement under the mowing deck so that the air blast deflects off the pavement and hits the mowing deck clearing loose grass clippings. I never cut grass when the grass is wet so the grass clippings don't mat very much. I hope this helps someone.
I bought an ego electric push mower, trimmer, edger and the blower in 2019. The following year I bought an extra battery so that I could finish cutting my less than half acre lot. This year my batteries only last about 15 minutes each. DO NOT buy electric!
Thinking of getting this to knock out some weed growth. I live in a prairie area where weeds can just sprout like crazy. How do you think this will do vs taller weeds? Thanks!
Looks pretty small. Not sure its built for a 6 ft operator? Been looking for a small 30" mower for my small yard, as I had my knee operated on last Fall, & its still not great to walk on.
Hi Matts, i have problem with my mower, it turn on, but does not move, the dealer fix four times but the problem return again , again...do you know how reset the computer please?
Helpful video. I was actually just googling how to run the blade while going backward. I just bought the Cub CC30 today and it was at Home Depot but refurbished for $1799 + tax. Anyway thanks for the info.
Bad design on the location of the cup holder. I filled a red 12 ounce Solo cup with ice tea and put it in the cup holder. I cut grass for about 10 minutes and went to get a drink and the cup was half full. The rest of the ice tea was on the electronic control panel. I wiped the panel off immediately, but the display was fogged up internally. Fortunately, no damage was done and the condensation disappeared. I can't believe CC engineering did not catch this. DON'T use a full open cup in the cup holder. Use a sealed bottle.
Had mine 4 hours. Was under impression mower shut off if you got off seat. Absent-mindedly left key in overnight, now it's deader than a doornail. No indication on digital panel. The charge seems to indicate it is fully charged ; SOLID GREEN. Bought from Home Depot with $349 extended warranty, they said call manufactured. Called Cub Cadet, they said take it to a service center, they will mail the locations near me. 3 hours and no list. Called the nearest cub cadet serviceman, and he was not certified for lithium ion mowers.
I AM NOT OVERLY IMPRESSED WITH CUT, ESPECIALLY WITH LONGER CUT, TENDS TO BEND SOME OF THE GRASS BLADES. MY BIG PROBLEM, IT WON'T COME ON. ACCIDENTALLY LEFT KEY IN OVERNIGHT. NOW SEEMS DEAD, ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. PROBABLY DON'T HAVE 3 HOURS ON IT. CHARGER SEEMS TO THINK IT IS FULLY CHARGED, SHOWS SOLID GREEN LIGHTS. HAVING TROUBLE FINDING CUB CADET SERVICEMAN CERTIFIED ON LITHIUM ION MOWERS
I am super happy with the electric CC30e. Did add an electric bicycle horn under the brake release cover, and wired a button on center of the steering wheel. It is so quiet, no heard me coming around a corner, and scared my grandkids, when the blades were not on, $8 fix.
Good day. I'm wondering...are the blades direct driven or belt driven? If belt driven...how does the owner get in there and replace or place the belt back on...just questions that Im thinking about Thanks for your response
Hello Do you recommend a coating be applied to the undercarriage of the lawn mower prior to use and followed each use after such as ceramic coating or Mo-Deck to limit grass adherence? Thank you.
DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER!! I bought one 2 years ago. It was fine for 2 years. I followed all the recommendations on battery maintenance. This year I had a Cub Cadet dealer sharpen the blades, same as last year. Then it died in the middle of the first mowing in 2022. No problem, right? It's under warranty, right? Warranties only work if the company has the parts. The Cub Cadet authorized servicer said it needs a new battery. Fine, put it in. Problem: THERE ARE NO BATTERIES AVAILABLE!! WTF? So now I have an expensive ice of junk sitting at the repair shop waiting for a battery with no hope of one showing up... and they've had it for weeks now. Called Cub Cadet and wow are they ever user unfriendly. The repair place is fine, but Cub Cadet sucks. DO NOT BUY THIS MOWE!!
I almost didn’t get this mower because I couldn’t get it to turn on since it needed to start with the parking brake engaged but I’m glad I got it it was on sale for 1799$ at Home Depot but I would also appreciate if you could make a video on brakes because my unit is also jolting like you said
Lol you said it, just got mine today I came in the morning to try and test drive it but I didn’t know how to drive one so after looking at some videos online I came back to Home Depot and they couldn’t find the key they gave me that same day but luckily they found the key, charger and manual for me but it took over an hour just to get the key and charger still happy with the purchase
I have a question. I found two at a Home Depot. I asked the manager and they've been in the store since last summer and haven't been charged regularly or at all. I understand that in storage the battery should be charged once a month. Would you buy one of these or wait for the next production line?
I checked my (unplugged) mower monthy over the winter and it didn't lose any charge. Ask the manager to insert the key and get the current charge %. Total guess, but as long as the battery is still above ~20% then I think it should be OK. If the battery is totally drained, avoid it.
@@mattsreviews1009 Thanks for the suggestion. I have an order in for a new production mower. It will be about 2 months before it is ready, but I think I'll play it safe and get the new one.
@@mattsreviews1009 One should NOT let L-Ion batteries run all the way down. I keep my L-Ion RTC batteries stored at 60%. Check out RC forums for advice on L-Ion batteries also.
I bought mine middle of 2021 & have been very happy it. Have had no problems. I don't have a huge yard & also used it for mulching my leaves this fall which I have a lot of. It is so much better than all that blowing & bagging.
It's very similar to most riding mowers. Removing the deck involves pulling a bunch of cotter pins and one or two wires. Will try to record the process next time I need to sharpen the blades :)
