Deregulation in the 80's was a double edge sword, brought the end to the large fleets and allowed smaller companies especially non union fleets to expand and take up the slack, this also allowed the Teamsters to loose control, all of this and the mismanagement of the large fleets is why they are all gone today, Yellow Freight is a good example.

I have just come across this video since doing my family tree to which he is in it, I too am a descendant my maiden name being Gardner too therefore on my father's side. its fascinating to find all about this man as I see my father looking at his picture and hearing this story about him and also reading about him,it's like your literally describing my father too, I thankyou for this.
Oh I thought that this was going to be a detailed explanation, not just a literal acting out of the words. It's all well and good to get actors together, and set up the props, and to get the costumes just right, and the camera settings, and the right lighting conditions and the camera angles, and have everyone speak their lines just so, and to do all the editing that is required, but what about the message? What does a woman represent in prophetic language? Therefore what is a virgin? And what does the oil represent? And who is the bridegroom? And what does it mean that they all slept? And so what does it mean that the door is shut, that even virgins who had been waiting for the wedding and knew who was coming, and had been invited, would not be admitted because they had not enough oil? A woman is to be seen as a church. Therefore a virgin is a church that has never apostatized; a pure church, which has kept all the Gospels intact. The oil is the Spirit of God; the Holy Spirit, even the Spirit of Truth, who gives us both comfort and discernment. All the churches are sleeping, meaning that they do not see the urgency, and say that "the Lord delays Hs coming". The bridegroom is of course Christ, and the wedding is the final day when He claims his own to be with Him forever. And the door is shut on those who say; "...Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:22-23 KJV We are not saved by our works no matter how closely they may emulate the works of the faithful. Likewise, a counterfeit currency may look, to the untrained eye, to be the real thing, but in fact it has been designed to mimic the real thing in an attempt to circumvent and undermine the authority behind it, and to steal the value behind it. The Bible exists as a guide and instruction manual, for us to learn how to distinguish the many, artfully designed and beautiful counterfeits from the One real thing. That's why, when His apostles asked Jesus, What will be the signs of your coming? He made what is at first a very strange reply; "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Matthew 24:4-5 It doesn't answer the question at all to begin with, but instead it sets the context; The end times will be dominated by such clever and compelling deception that MANY "GOOD CHRISTIANS" WILL BE FOOLED ONTO FOLLOWING FALSE CHRISTS. The first time He came here, most of the Jews failed to recognize their own Messiah, even though the exact year of His coming, the nature and details of Hs coming, and every significant detail of His cruxifixction were spelled out for them in advance in the Scriptures, and the sacrificial system that they'd been practicing for centuries all pointed to Him! And some who did recognize Him wanted to do away with Him, because that would mean and end to their wonderful authority and their prestigious positions in the Synagogue! Nothing has changed in the hearts of men since, and so His second coming will be much like the first, in that many who have been very religious Christians will have been following after counterfeits speaking smooth things, pleasing their sensibilities and boosting their self-esteem. Those people will have been worshiping idols, which is to say, "gods" of their own imaginings, rather than the God and the Christ and the Spirit explained in every detail in Scripture. They have constructed in their own minds an "approachable Jesus", who loves us as we are (rather than turning us FROM what we are), and so forth and such bilge. But this time it will be the end of all of such rot, and the beginning of the eternal Kingdom! And you don't necessarily need actors and a stage, nor cameras, nor editors, to say THAT.

There are loads of these still kicking around in smaller businesses, at least in Canada. You can tell it'a quite reliable, some of the desksets I used were late 80's and the switchboxes looked like they hadn't been opened in 30 years lol. Probably the only thing that remains of Nortel's legacy.
A rather large Canadian chocolate producer (big enough you've probably either seen or eaten their chocolates, but who I will not be naming) still uses a Meridian One 61C for their calls, as well as serving DHCP and DNS to their computers.
Repent and be saved. Foolishness looks like different things to different people, but trust in Jesus alone and you shall be saved. (The oil and lamps are a symbol of the Holy Spirit in each of us. The Holy Spirit is the oil and we must be full of His life-giving presence when Jesus comes to collect us we should be shown attentive and receptive to His word, and his presence.) God bless you all!
I just loved this man. When in high school 1958-60 I met him at the summer camp in Stockton, Ca. Called then the "College of the Pacific" now UOP, it was a 5 week music camp where we would practice Mon-Sat and sing a concert on Sunday each of the 5 weeks + plus put on a full Opera at the conclusion of the camp. He was a guest choir leader at the camp. He loved high school kids. We had curfews at night and had to be in our room at a certain time, but he would sneak in and tell us stories and sing and teach us little ditties that he wrote. I told him I wanted to be a white kid in his choir - he would laugh and say "Come on down and join". I have such fond memories of this wonderful man.
