They made the Nirvana thing into a brick joke. Later in the set they went into Smells Like Teen Spirit for a couple measures. Such a fun band to see live.
Rob Grill bought out the other original members to own the Grassroots name. When he died, it reverted to his estate. The guitarist up front Dusty did play with Rob for over 20 years, but no one on stage has ever sung on any Grassroots albums or singles. They tour under license from the estate. However, they do a great job recreating the sound and Mark on lead vocals not only has good pipes but has an engaging stage presence. Technically, this is a tribute band. You can stay home and listen to the Grassroots on your albums/cd's or enjoy these classic songs live in a fun concert experience. Keep on Rockin!
None of the originals are there. Dennis & Warren are 78 now. Rob & Rick have passed Mark is a good singer player _ it's great to hear the band sing the tunes but it's misleading to call themselves The Grass Roots
@@wisdisneydad5388They are an insult to the Grass Roots legacy. They are a tribute band and should be ashamed of themselves by using that name!!!! No original members. Not one!
I saw these guys perform a few years ago and I was willing to overlook the fact there are no original members until the guitarist on the left said WE… as in WE had this hit WE had that hit, WE did this WE did that. Gimme.a break! That tore it for me!
Rob Grill gave Mark Dawson permission to carry on with the band name. Most members of this line up have been with the the band longer than the original members !! Plus, they sound great !!
Oh the Grass Roots did not play in WI Dells. They sound great! I went to the Concert for my favs The Cowsills❤️ they were great!! The whole Happy Together Tour concert is so awesome and fun!
Thank you for posting this! I just saw them in Wisconsin Dells on the 24th. Great show! Sadly, Mark Volman was not able to perform that evening, so I appreciate seeing him here from a week earlier. Happy Together is so much fun!
That is too bad for Mark. That disease is probably slowly taking it's toll. I saw him in Milwaukee on the 17th and he did a great job. All prayers his way 🙏🙏🙏
