Welcome to my RU-vid channel! As an enthusiastic Canadian, my videos focus around my life in the skies as a commercial pilot flying all over North America; however, the best part about being a pilot is that I get to combine many of my other passions alongside my love for aviation. Flying to unique destinations for fishing, paddle boarding, the Rocky Mountains, and sharing my love for adventure style aviation and exploring... is a dream come true! And all in a days work! As a commercial pilot, outdoor enthusiast, fly fishing guru, and enthusiastic paddle boarder... I love sharing my adventures, especially with those who aspire to be the next generation of pilots and adventurers! From takeoff to landing, my pilot vlog has been an outlet for everything I do! Building life long friendships, learning new things, and sharing my knowledge with future aviators is the icing on top of a very VERY delicious adventurous cake! Join me and brace for takeoff! The mechanics & being a stickler for safety - almost paranoid thinking of every possibility of something, anything going wrong & keeping an escape route open. Being hyper aware of weather, understanding & using instrument competently. Mentally going through the flight-path & trajectory in advance visualizing the states. Gravity is very unforgiving & better not be challenged 😊
100%. The pay and travel opportunities are great but I am genuinely fascinated by aerodynamics and the way planes and all the instruments work. Not only that but the shear amount of technical info you have to know to fly is information most people don’t know. Teaching it is a blast.
I retired at AA last year after 37 years and a total of 49 years of flying. I work with young people that are interested in the career and did years of career days. I never had the words that you have to put across the same point. The love of the machines and the idea of being as one with them is a key. I was a mechanic at times as well as a pilot and that kind of old school training can keep a young guy alive to fly another day. Very good job and I have shared your video to quite a few young people. Thank you.
If you’re flying under part 91, there are no takeoff minimums. But, if you delay your takeoff for the visibility to increase, it will give you time to practice pronouncing METAR correctly. Be safe!
KA350-I do it for the awesome people I work for, the travel, the pay is OK, but it also allows me to continue to be a flight instructor which if I could make a living doing that I would. I’ve just always enjoyed that but most people don’t.oh yeah, I also do it for the coffee. You can usually get a free cup of coffee anywhere you land.
I’m 17 and am head deep in study for aircraft mechanics and piloting. Lots and lots of reading but the mechanics and science is so interesting and I love it.
I've never been on a plane before, I'm 29. Never went to school because I didn't know what I wanted to do. I always thought about being a pilot but thought I can't do that. Then one day I did some research and thought, I can do this. I bought some books and I've been reading them in my free time, one day I'll go to school and hopefully get a job. The travel and money seems great, but I'm also really excited about being able to fly a plane. Seems like it will be a fun job that I'll enjoy
There are various memory flows you need to memorize and that'll pretty much cover all the controls, but I'd say the theory for CPL/ATP is a lot harder to learn than to memorize the controls. Good luck!
I don’t agree with you. I love my life as a pilot precisely because of all the reasons you just named. And I can honestly say that the mechanics of an airplane are just something that had to tag along with me. For me, any reason that makes you stick through the training, the time building and the economic burden that early pilot stages require, then that’s good enough reason.
