It simply reminds me of the time I originally watched in ( 1974 ) It’s great seeing this in colour, the only thing I noticed was the telephone box was grey, then red. Really though, it’s great seeing Jon and Liz, just the way I will always remember them.
why is the tardis NOT dark Blue and the Phone box not RED. and the Jeep changed colour as it drove by. I am also worried about the grand father clock too mind the dino is so funny
So there's no grass in the field they land in and the TARDIS looks like it's been rolled in the mud. Did they drop parts for the prop and forget to wipe them down before filming? 😆 I do like the colour-changing outfits though.
It's definitely a good attempt at doing this. Way better than the old colorization attempts and is quite seamless in many spots. The brigadier's skin tone is pretty wacky though. :)
I don't care about any slight imperfections, it's great to see this episode again. Mr Pertwee and Ms Sladen were a great team and Elisabeth was so nice looking. Jon Pertwee always reminds me of the french poet and film maker, Jean Cocteau. Jon's ancestors were french Heugenots who fled to England after the french revolution, and Cocteau was, of course, french. Watch the film, I think it was Testament of a Poet. There is a scene where Cocteau travels through time, materialising inthe same way as the Tardis but in person. The whole scene is set in a studio with no set to speak of: it featured a nanny with a child in a pram; the nanny is sitting on a park, bench but the whole scene is in a studio which might seem odd but it works. Anyway, Pertwee has an appearance similar to Cocteau's and I can't help wondering if this deliberate or coincidence. Could be that Cocteau and Pertwee, being essentially french in mentality arrived at a sartorial look that reflected something of their shared origins. Oh, and if you watch the film mentioned be aware that Cocteau was gay and some of the imagery in the film seems to reflect this.
I love the way that the AI changes its decisions on certain colour choices over time, like the Tardis, telephone box and car for example. Like it's remembering, or getting new information as it goes.
the story title "invasion" rather than "invasion of the dinosaurs" for this episode was avoid revealing the surprise dinosaurs. " "invasion of the dinosaurs" was used for episodes 2-6. "invasion" was the story title used for the 1969 Pat Troughton cyberman story.
Awesome. The BBC was airing Pertwee era Dr Who in USA by airing a color recording over a cropped B&W recording per some website. The first few episodes at that time were still in B&W, good work.
The bbc recovered Home recorded off airs and combined them with B&W TeleRecordings to color quite a few Pertwee serials. were doing this in the early 90's I was buying them the moment they came out having only seeing them in B&W in Australia before
Those deterntion centre transport landrovers were pretty good - the way they have the ability to change from olive green to bright red, when they turn left around corners!
