“In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.

On a motorcycle the frame is gone. You're completely in contact with it all. You're in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.”

Thanks for this video comparing it against your 500. I've been watching a few 250 videos as a starter bike. I'm a big guy and looks like I'm gonna start on a CBR500.

Great video thanks for the info. More to include is any other direct comparisons to other similar bikes. You did that a bit but that info goes a long way to sky one watching dozens of videos virtually comparing bikes.

Hey man, I'm considering getting a 2017 model. I see a lot about false neutrals. Is this correct and is it disturbing? And is there a big difference between the years of construction?
@-Tejdog-
@-Tejdog- 2 месяца назад
@@MichaelPlak It´s true and not true. People who haven't owned a Ducati before complain about this. You have to get used to the fact that the Ducati has a rougher gearbox and you have to shift harder there - just kick it in. I had a false neutral jump a couple of times, but it was more like my lax shifting. If this happens to you, the main thing is not to panic and simply shift the gear up (never shift down!!). The same goes for finding neutral. When bike is cold it needs a feel, but once the gearbox and clutch warm up it's ok. I don't think there is a difference between the years because the engine and transmission have remained the same. I have 2018

@@-Tejdog- Alright this will help me a lot. If i buy one I might get a gear indicator on it also. I feel like this will help a lot, because u can see in which gear ur in. This is going to be my first bike and that makes it a bit difficult. Would u recommend it for a completly new bike rider? I appreciate ur time btw
@-Tejdog-
@-Tejdog- 2 месяца назад
@@MichaelPlak I had that gear indicator on the bike when i bought it (it was already there) but I got rid of it. Its also my first "big" bike, but to be honest its useless i think. You know what gear you are in because of the RPM and speed and you get use to it very quickly. But that is my opinion. You can feel if the bike wants to gear up or gear down. The first gear is really only for starting at the intersection, because the bike has a lot of torque. Its better to ride at low speed on second gear and use clutch. But that is my opinion. And this bike hates low RPM, besicaly u dont want to go under 3000 then the bike is pretty jerky, but then its a two-cylinder from Ducati.. But man it has soul. Hope it helps.

I'm thinking about selling all my bikes and picking up a dr650 as my only bike. And would likely get an extra wheel set. Curiosity, did he drop the shock setting when he fitted the 17-in front wheel?

i’m 58 and I’ve been driving since age 10 and I still don’t have a license but I live in Thailand and it’s just a fine every time if they catch you with no helmet no license and no papers. And we don’t have a speed limit. If you do have a license and you get caught too many times and you can be punished but if you don’t have a license then it’s just a fine. So I never got a license because, it’s safer

Loved that comment about almost watching the fuel gauge dropping but it's just where the fuel goes to the back of the tank - when you brake , the gauge goes up !.... I have a Streetbob which is reworked with a (again reworked) CVO topend taken out to 113" with ported heads, trued and welded crank, S&S640 cams and othe S&S stuff, a Mikuni HSR48, Ultima increased ratio rockers, Thuderheart ignition etc etc and when you are out on it the fun is only ever intrupted by the need to refuel ! I've done all the other stuff ( suspension, brakes etc) so my bike is very similar to an FXLRS but a bit moreso with well over 130 bhp and ftlbs and it's so much fun but at 64 years young I take things a bit easy most of the time, just picked up a Red Thunder 2 into 1 exhaust for £350....

If you want to improve the front end handling - 20w oil and some preload.... 👌 As for the 'bars, there's 1/2" of adjustment as standard on the clip-ons so you can open open up a bit...

nice review. i have two sportbikes (cbr1000rr & daytona with VIR nearby!) and a sports tourer (ninja1000 with saddlebags). don't ask why i cannot decide between the 950s and panigale bayless. if the ss had the more powerful engine, i would have no quandary... thanks for your opinion. apparently that torque provides plenty of giggle time thrust!

This vid is a good example of why I like your stuff, and why I like hearing your thoughts about all types of bikes. It seems like you just enjoy talking about riding and all the non-bike related aspects of it, rather than trying to cater to that infinitely moveable audience.

This bike is the last of the UJM's its a 750 with a direct lineage to the 1969 Honda CB750. I own one, and I am NOT selling it or trading it in. It has the potential to be a true classic. its not a 900, 850, 800, three cylinder weirdo-vibrator or a thousand... It's a 7-fifty the only true superbike!!
