I'm looking for a substitute for grass, something that grows low to he ground like grass. All these videos about plants that block weeds involve plants that grow tall. Is clover the only option for that?
Hi there! If you're seeking a substitute for grass that grows low to the ground, there are indeed options beyond clover. While clover is a popular choice due to its ability to suppress weeds and its low maintenance nature, there are other ground cover plants you can consider. Some alternatives include creeping thyme, creeping Jenny, or even certain types of sedum. These plants form dense mats close to the ground, providing coverage similar to grass while also crowding out weeds. Each option has its own unique characteristics, so it's worth researching to find the best fit for your specific needs. Hope this helps!

Great question! Some of the perennials in this list can survive in pots over winter, but it depends on the plant and your local climate. Clematis, climbing hydrangea, and honeysuckle are generally hardy and can overwinter in pots if they are well-insulated and protected from severe frost. Jasmine, bougainvillea, and passionflower are more sensitive to cold and might need to be moved indoors or to a sheltered area during the winter. For the best results, consider using frost-proof pots and mulching around the base of the plants to protect the roots. Always check the specific hardiness zone recommendations for each plant to ensure they match your local conditions. Happy gardening! 🌿🌸
"Hi! Yes, Mahogany, particularly the species Swietenia macrophylla (Bigleaf Mahogany), can be considered invasive in certain regions outside its native range. It can spread rapidly and outcompete local flora, potentially disrupting local ecosystems. However, its invasiveness can vary depending on the specific environment. Always check local guidelines and recommendations before planting non-native species. Thanks for your comment!"

Thank You for all these beautiful ideas as to what I can plant, I love that they are all low maintenance and they look stunning. Such a lovely video X 🌷🌻🦋
I heard that oak trees soak up lots of water from the other plants around them. I have tried impatiens, hostas and this summer I planted Sunpatiens. The deer ate my hostas, the impatiens didn’t grow much and same w the Sunpatiens this season ( even before the deer or something else ate them to the ground🤦♀️. Any suggestions for getting the plants to thrive. I use Miracle grow. What is your opinion about putting weed fabric down before mulching?
