Thank you for your comment. Yes, Teresa of Avila is certainly 'tried and true'. I think Teresa would be pleased to encourage prayer no matter what method is used. She says, “I’m not asking you to do anything more than look at Him. For who can keep you from turning the eyes of your soul toward this Lord" Centering prayer among other methods, is one way to help us turn our heart to God, and do nothing more.
