This brand looks to be pretty bad I must say (not the first video I've seen with this Betstco whatever brand, where it did work badly). I have the same design from KDL Agri, most likely the very same manufacturing line with different paint, but mine has for the EFGC-125.... 3 belts. Also the belt guard has pins, which prevents it from touching the belts.
I have the same mower and it cuts in the dirt as well. Haven't broken anything yet but seems inevitable. Trying to figure out how to raise the rear roller. The holes in the side plates to make a lot of sense. Let me know if you've got it dialed in. I'm tired of the dust! Thanks!
In the vid description would be great if people put product info, tractor model, flail model. Most people are watching these vids in order to gain information, like what size model flail mower is it? Will my tractor have enough hp to spin it properly.
It looks like an ash buddy if it hasn't been dead too too long it's pretty pretty strong wood when it dries out my opinion I'm not there I think you could have went up and did what you had to do that's my opinion but hey you make the choice you're on the job you're the climber God bless stay safe
And buddy that snap hook you're using for rigging I would never use that in a million years that thing is horrible to be using on a rigging line either tie a knot or use a real steel carabiner
I can’t say for all battery operated brands but for this unit, the answer is yes. What you see in the video is all the run time I’ve had with it so far. We cut our stations grass weekly so all the shifts will use it and have some run time with it over the next few weeks and be able to get further feedback on it.
Just an observation, this system is DEFinitely faster and way more efficient when you back up to the bigger cut ends of the piles, rather than the smaller brush stuff. It doesn't really just lay over the stuff, but more so feeds against it.
Nice ! Any tool or machine that helps you work smarter not harder is a plus ! I was hoping you'd show it going over the smaller(2"-3") stumps from the younger sprigs if , in fact , it would take them down Thanks for sharing ! Liked and Subbed ! 😇❤
Thanks. It can but not in large groups or diameters. The flail mower with hammer blades, unlike a mulcher w/ fixed teeth, has swinging blades that can easily break off if going into thicker stuff. I just try to show the viewers what it can do if someone was in the market to buying something similar.
@@theturfjunkies4052 just purchased the "offset" (agl 125 ditch bank mower) version in hopes that it could tackle the 2-3" stumps after watching several trractor attachment channels state that "it can do just as much as a brush hog" but after watching you burn up the two belts and say that you will cut those little saplings down with a chainsaw is making me a skeptic. I haven't attached it yet to see what it can do but I myself am pretty good at tearing stuff up and may have to go back to the trusty yet clunky brush hog. Thanks for not trying to sell me something that isn't true
@@quinnthomas9965 I do a lot of cleanups and needed some to help process material more efficiently. My goal with these videos is to show real life problems and how to tackle them with the equipment you might have. Remember they are not like big skidsteer mulchers and you have to be selective on what you chop up. It does take some time and patience but you will get the results you need if you take your time.
I love the echo trimmers and they start and run great I always loved still but cranking 6 times to get one started vs twice in the morning and once every yard after for the echo can't beat it
The belts on my finish mower smoke when cutting thick grass. I’ve snapped a couple of belts but I guess it’s cheaper and easier to change a belt than to change a gearbox. Usually the grass, which can grow six or seven feet tall, needs two passes to cut. The issue is a mountain of cut grass clogs up the mower. I’d like to buy a flail mower to cut long grass. I hope it doesn’t clog up like a finish mower does.
If you get one get it with the Y blades. They are designed to cut grass rather than the hammer blades which perform better in woody material better. Keeping the roller in the lowest hole will open the discharge chute more. I won’t say it will clog up all the time but leaves a more even discharge of grass rather than it windrow up like a brush cutter. I just recorded a job going from woody material to tall grass and seeing the difference. Stay tuned for that video in the future.
Ground guy seems pretty pleasant but honestly whole time annoyed the crap out of me the way he keeps advising what to do. Let the guy in the lift do his thing unless it’s a danger to himself or unless he asks for advice lol. Good job on working your way through the tree
Trey aka “Hollywood” has worked with me for many years (13) he can see things that I may not see and I trust his judgment at times and that’s why we have a good working relationship.
@@theturfjunkies4052 The manufacturers specifications for the Echo DCS 2500T is run time up to 18 minutes. The 2.5 amp battery does not last 30-40 minutes even with lightweight pruning.
For the occasionally user the battery powered saw might be a good choice for an option. Battery powered equipment has been skeptical to me but they have improved over the years.
I enjoy cutting trees and If you found this video very helpful, please like and share it. I tried to cover everything I could think of but I you have any useful tips leave them in the comments below .👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 Spread the knowledge by helping people make safe cutting practices.
