Wow-were you concerned at all for your safety during this episode? The guy was visibly upset to the point I wasn’t sure what he was going to do. Can’t imagine what it was like in person. Kudos to you for keeping your cool and being so professional!
This is my favorite episode so far!! It was just loads of fun. Never imagined someone would bring you a maybe old bone or that petrified wood - but they are rocks I guess. What exciting unexpected thing would they bring in next???
Really glad you are putting out new content. I'd like to know how to get on the show. I rockhound San Diego beaches and have found some beautiful rocks that I can't identify. I've shown them to a couple of geologists from the San Diego Mineral & Gem Society, and they also don't know what they are. I could use some help. Thanks.
Looks like magnatite ? Lets see. Edit I was close hematite was my number 2 guess. Im a gold miner find bolders of magnatite find chunky gold. Biggest magnatite, i found was about a basketball size and 100lbs so i left it 😢.
@tectonic_city if I ever find my pice of josephinite a rare high nickle naturally occurring ore that of course people would think is a meteorite I will send it to you maybe I'm wrong.
The silvery look and needle-like crystals make me think Stibnite, but that would be antimony. Calcium-aluminium-silicate, makes me think stilbite. Similar as they may sound. 😄
Gotta admit it was cool seeing some of the other machines and stuff that are part of the process. That and there is, i assume, some windows xp machine still running an old excel script containing the worlds library of things which come from the ground.
Rocky mountains Colorado here, new sub, love you guys, really just getting into it in earnest after flirting all these years, love this, love your channel/show, you guys rock!!! Of course😂😂❤❤
I bet it’s the bark texture of a root base that’s been cast in (edit: looks agatized or cherty). Their insides are usually solid no rings like the trunk
