Angora Rabbits Spinning Yarn I first started on my yarn spinning journey 18 years ago. The internet was in its early stages and RU-vid was nonexistent (at least to my knowledge). In researching a small acreage fiber animal, Angora rabbits were the animal that came up repeatedly in articles and blogs. My “farm” knowledge at that time was riding on the back of my grandpa’s tractor and chickens. All these years later I have my own little “flock” of beautiful Angoras, and numerous spinning wheels that I can use to teach others what I wanted to learn so many years ago. We live on a 5-acre farm with chickens, Angora rabbits of all kinds, and recently added 2 Angora goats to the mix. I am also a spinning wheel dealer for Spinolution Spinning Wheels. Join me in this beautiful fiber filled life on the farm!
I am so glad you are on the mend. I just experimented with my “unspinnable” angora by putting it ontop of my garden bed as a mulch. I am in hot southern california and it is supposed to help with water conservation. Not sure how to share pictures with you.
It’s so great to see you back and to hear about your improvements!! Loved hearing about your updates and the continued teamwork and adjustments made to promote your healing and create space for yourself! You’re inspirational! Still sending all the good thoughts and prayers for your continued recovery and hoping for all the great blessings!!
So glad to see you today my friend! I hope you continue to improve and feel stronger ❤ Yes, we definitely need to make that video! We'll get there 🙂 Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything!
My husband had a heart attack in 2018 and needed by-pass surgery so …it was a quick round up of people to help look after my livestock for two weeks. I had a great support chain in place. It is very important to have that support in a pinch. So glad you are doing better. Blessings
Just found your channel, am binge watching all of your videos 😊 How much fiber do you typically need to make one skein of yarn? Thank you for all of the info!
I always enjoy your podcast and am so pleased to see you back and hope you soon have full recovery. You’re right though, Scott is awesome and a happy bunny ( excuse the pun). You are both such a close couple it’s a joy to see.
Lol your husband is funny. I can see mine doing stuff like that if I had a RU-vid channel. That's nice that he's helping you. Hope you feel better soon!
It’s so great to see you back, Renee, and I hope your recovery is a speedy and is filled with blessings! It’s so great to see such a wonderful example of a supportive and loving partnership, including in the context of farming and pursuits surrounding them! Keep up the amazing work!! 🤗🤗🤗. All the good thoughts, love, and prayers!!
You made that seem so simple! I always fear I will felt the fibre and so usually spin first and dye second but of course then I do not have an evenly dyed yarn. Thankyou😊
It really is simple. Making sure the fiber is saturated first does help. As long as you don't change water temps or agitate the fiber, you shouldn't felt it.
