Your tilt method let me hit 95% strength with straight shots 220 to 270 in the air with practice balls. Only once out of 50 I topped the ball. I think the lean back stops my body from 3:18 3:18 rocking and missing the ball. Top spin made it go higher and roll much further. I'm going to try again tomorrow to prove this is not just luck.
Natie. This helped me😅 drastically. I've golfed about 13 months and age 67. I wanted to hit further than 180 to 200 yards. The pros tell me to be happy with 200 yards. But I'm only swinging 60% hard. When trying 85 to 95% I slice or top the ball.
Laid off also goes with a flat shoulder turn. You need to coil upper body up and around in unison with the back swing. Too many golfer turn flat seeking a bigger turn. Club usually will get very laid off.
I always enjoy watching your videos, Eric. You have a way of giving us a detailed analysis in a way that laymen like myself could understand. Keep up the great work. However, this video had nothing to do increasing driving distance. As we all know, distance is increased when, ceteris paribus, ball speed increases. Ball speed is likely to increase when, again--ceteris paribus, clubhead speed increases. One of the best pieces advice about increasing clubhead/ball speed was given to me by a lesser-known golf coach online. He was his advice: -Watch any long-hitting golfer, female or male. -Watch a video of them swinging the club at regular video speed , NOT in slow motion. -Take notice of the swing tempo on the takeaway and through swing. -Then, without a club in your hand, try to match their speed on the way back and on the way through. Make a full body swing, not just your arms. Do this several times WITHOUT a club in your hand. -Now grab a club shaft without a clubhead or a dowel rod. Again, match the pro golfer's speed. Remember to make full body swings. -Now grab a light-weighted club, such as a kid's club or your three-wood (wedges are usually the HEAVIEST club in your bad). Match the swing speed. -Gradually work your way through driver, irons, and finally wedges. At first, you will see how incredibly FAST and QUICK they actually swing the club back and through. It will feel awkward. But, as you get used to it, you will see how your speed will increase. At first, I saw immediate gains of 5 mph within that practice session. I have plateaued soon after. Also, don't be discouraged that you mishit the ball. I must have mishit the ball about 30 times before I began making good contact again. You will learn to control impact and hit the ball flush with 1.30 to 1.40 smash factor with irons and 1.45 to 1.50 smash factor with the driver. Be patient. This actually works to increase distance.
Do you feel a little stretch back in your trail wrist at top of golf swing? Like your getting the full wrist extension? Then start downswing with that feel?
HOW??? So this entire video talks about a bunch of what! Nothing about how? This is the equivalent of saying you know what the driver you want to swing it really fast and hit the ball very far and you want your body to move LOL
Extremely important and might I say 99 percent of golfers you need a pry bar to take that thumb off . Both thumbs shouldn't be putting pressure on the shaft . Your make swings not impeding the pendulum. Pure Speed and accuracy .
Thank you so much ! I knew I was laid off but was so inconsistent. I ran across your video and took the information to the range and had instant success and noticed a tighter pattern on the face of my irons. I really appreciate you and your video; thanks again.
very nice here.....Having a proper fitting of a putter to you would promote these considerations...Putting, easily the most strokes per round with one club...having a proper putter fitted to you would be, in my experience, paramount to success.... I really enjoy this RU-vid channel.....sadly not watched enough by the public
Devan… from a fellow PNW dude (Puyallup) KEEP DOIN WHAT U DOIN!! Clear, understandable, concise & to the point instruction.. and a swing to put $$ where your mouth is! LOVE IT! 🤜🤛
The left leg pointer is vastly overlooked in preventing blocks and slices. Great stuff Aimee! Learnt a similar move where Left heel landing in a clockwise direction on the downswing ala Rory. Helped fixed my saggy overly flat rotation which robbed my space, got me stuck, bringing in the blocks and slices.
With all your respect. im not a internet troll and never comment on RU-vid in fact is my first time. I've been hitting down on my driver for so long and trying to find the DIY RU-vid way to fix my old and probably incurable problem, with happiness and excitement I find your video. Explanation sucks, when you hit the ball you should have front camera angle. we don't really see how you where leaning back or looking behind the ball or anything really. it was worth less imo. please take that in to consideration for the next one because what you say makes absolute sense and explaining but the it came down to the actual shot we all ended up clueless if what you said you followed it. I've watch lots of your tips and they are great but who ever is producing the videos need to understand what youre trying to explain.
Not particularly a huge Rory fan, but there's no doubt about his prodigious talent & willingness to share openly & honestly on this channel & others. Very helpful indeed 👍
This actually worked well for me and in hindsight makes sense. We have all heard that pros start their transition before they complete their backswing. They are moving their weight/pressure left while they are still closing their shoulders and hips. The amateur and average joe (including myself) isn’t coordinated enough to pull this off. I have always thought of transition as part of downswing and as a result would start opening hips during transition which is incorrect. I think what this drill allows is for the amateur to mimic the pro. You can separate transition from backswing, make it start of downswing as long as you keep hips shoulders closed to target as shift weight left. Well done.
Saw this dude effortlessly hit a ball 180 yards out the rough onto the green w/ a PW in person last week. Got my hat signed later that day. Crazy talent and world class personality
