Been lurking on youtube for a while mostly watching Car and overland videos, decided to finally start uploading content on the build out of my overlanding set up, Scout Kenai on a 2019 F350 Superduty.
I'm interested in your mountain bike rack setup on the back. Can you tell me about it? Is it a custom frame mounted to the back or is it a product I could buy? Currently, I have RockyMounts for my trailer hitch. Any issues with your bike coming detached from it on a rough trail?
Thinking to add two windows to our Yoho. What is the wall thickens and are these the Arctic Tern Window 300x500 ? Thank you very much for your videos !
Nice. I just purchase a kenai (actually the company I work for) to do survey work in northern Canada. What truck did you put your kenai on ? Did you do suspension mods ?
Sweet rig! I just updated my 2008 chevy 2500hd to a 2019 F350 at end of 2023!!! First ford after 3 duramax's, and loving the change!! Walk through coming soon, just built a camper under a truck topper. Truck stock for now..
Hi….thanks for taking the time and making these videos! Great work! I would really like to see how you built and attached the bike rack/ladder system you have? As well as the exterior mounting that you did. I could see the backing plates on the interior…would really like to see how you did them and for what purposes? I believe I have watched all your videos???
I'd love more info on how you built the Anderson connectors to the battery. I'd like to simplify my Kenai battery terminal connections, but I'm not sure what I need to do it. Do you have any suggestions or what/where to pick up components- thanks!
I didn't want to add weight and have to mount more things to the camper walls plus the fridge is wider than the empty floor space, so that wouldn't work
Wow. There is NO amount of positives that would erase the things you mentioned in this video, for me. None. I looked at Scouts. I like the idea. The problem is, other people have done the idea better. Scout is a hard no for me.
Like the progress and the videos man. Keep it coming. Do you mind sharing the window sizes, I am going to do the same thing to my Kenai and looks like you were spot on with the sizes.
Hey Zach! Sent you a IM on Instagram. Would love to know details on the bike racks. Need to buy mine asap for pick up of a Scout Yoho. Also, wish there was an email or other contact to reach you... Thanks!
What are your plans for the awning? Remove and replace with something else or just remove? Just bought one with that batwing and not super excited about difficulty setting it up, man it is way up there! Exploring other options
It's made by gsi its much lighter smaller and higher btu than the stock unit. I run it off a small camping propane tank that I can refill with the larger on board tanks.
Scout Camper have the worse costumer service. They advertise this as a 4 season camper and it's not. Collects so much condensation on the edges. Air filters through the door, and window on the door is not double pane and collects so much moisture in the winter. I had a 15k camper made by Travel lite that performed SO MUCH BETTER. BIG BIG BIG REGRET buying this crap for this much money. The propane heater SUCKS, the bottom part of the unit stays SUPER COLD. I am going to have to install a secondary heater to heat up the bottom part of the camper. Don't waste your money, for 1/5 or a 1/3 of the money you can do much better if you want to use it in the winter time without so many issues.
@@markkuthielkozak8753 There is a camper that they make in Vancouver, There is no aluminum at all to freeze, the door is also 4 season unlike the Scout. I do regret buying the Scout camper. Now I am having issues with the propane tanks leaking, I keep sending videos and still no action. The roofnest is having issues as well. Still nothing there either. They keep saying they will contact the manufactures of those items. It's an endless nightmare.
Fabulous design, remodel & construction - you impress the shit out of me! The "backing strips" for outside things stoked my desire to see the outside walkabout... have fun be fun & keep being funny! 👊
Looks great! We sold our Kenai, but if we'd kept it I'd do something similar to what you've done. The factory layout of the Scout campers is terrible, no idea who tested the seating setup in the Kenai for comfort?
Well done! Have done a few similar things to my yoho, couldn’t understand the logic in how scout set things up originally, didn’t seem like people actually tested them…
