Of course, you can always rely on a gringo to barge into a Spanish conversation with his opinions, right? That is admittedly me - just as to the gringo description. Back in 1973, when I was a 20-year-old American living in Philadelphia, PA, I bought a 1963 Wolfsburg Edition VW similar to this one, including the ragtop sunroof. I then became only the 2nd owner of that car which had been garage kept, originally bought by the proverbial "little old lady" who drove it less than 1,000 miles a year while she owned and operated it The main reason I mention this is to point out that the VW in this video is not a 1963 VW. The 1963 model had much different turn signals and tail lights. The '63 had the front turn signals located at the top of each fender, no longer below the headlights. The '63 had much larger tail lights, too. These are features that can't be modified on the fenders without leaving visible telltale signs. Unless all four of its fenders were replaced by earlier model year ones, the VW in this video is (at the latest) a 1962 VW, more likely a 1960 model. It has many after-market more modern features added to it, too. A great looking and well preserved VW "Beetle" it certainly is, but the video is titled wrongly ("Vocho 1963") and misleading in other ways. Okay now, I'm done opining unsolicited and I fully expect to be derided and discounted for not joining in with the love fest comments below already entered! My best wishes, however, to all the people is this world who appreciate great automobile designs from the past!
