Try using a 5gal paint strainer on the paint bucket. Take the lid off the 5 gallon paint bucket. Mix the paint thoroughly. Place the strainer over the bucket opening so that it covers the top opening and goes down the outsides. Keep the strainer flat on top with just a half inch of slack. Use a lid with a spout hole and secure it onto the paint bucket holding the strainer in place. Now every drop you pour out of that bucket is strained paint. You can still use that big tub but you won’t have to screw a strainer on anymore. Now the lid has the strainer on it and you can move it to another bucket of paint to fill that big tub.
Too bad they charge a massive premium for this. Also too bad I'll never bother since their warranty is worth less than dirt. Last 390 PC I bought was dying with the motor burning out well within warranty but with how they do warranty they tell you to take it to a local shop that they contract out for repairs. My warranty was a free motor if mine went out. It's a $500 problem, half of what I paid for it. It's been sitting in one of my local paint stores(I think it's porter paint here that covers their warranty) since 2020 or 2021. I'll probably never see it again at this rate. I'll probably have to sue for the repair or something. But, I had to buy a replacement sprayer while that one was down and I went with Titan. Can't recommend them enough over whatever Graco has become, but it's not the Graco of old that's for sure.
