What an extraordinary man, and what a fantastic achievement. I would say give that man an OBE, but they give them away to the rich and famous for being rich and famous rather than doing anything constructive so it would be demeaning.
I think a great portfolio is a narrative. Different images from various sporting disciplines with a narrative thread. The guy who says that he starts his folio with an image with an impact reminds me of reading a novel or watching a film that hooks the audience in the beginning & than can possibly keep their attention span through the set of images. I’m a sports photographer & documentary photographer & I worked at one of big four agencies in the beginning but I never found photographers themselves inspiring. I worked with s guy who won World Press Photo in the 2000’s. I’ve always found film makers interesting for my photography. I would spend a lot of times looking at Vogue magazine for shadows, silhouette, black & white work with clean lines.
Need to do more of these videos.. theres nothing on RU-vid for photographers...especially females. Would be good if you could do a video with Cath Ivill or Lynne Cameron to show females out there that women can compete in a male dominated industry
It's almost as if this woman is completely ignorant of what is going on abroad - the mandates - the distinct foreshadowing of a severe governmental authoritarianism; the noble lie. Completely disproportional to the threat. People know. There is an insidious governmental reaction going on globally where government corporations wedded to the biotechnological and medical sector are imposing restraints on individual liberty and people's bodily autonomy. 'If we do not learn from history then we are doomed repeat it' - if so, are we not right in being circumspect of these profit making companies? We are not selfish. We are discerning. Each and every one of us have to be clear about the lines that we will not cross. I will not give in to this ideology. I will not muzzle myself with a bacteria ridden muzzle. I will not allow a substance that is known 'FDA admission' to cause heart defects in young people - yet Govpharm wish to give it to our kids? Even when the chances of having adverse reactions from the Jab are higher than the threat of covid itself. Where is the reasoning? Do we just give ourselves over to this kind of medico-fascism ad-infinitum? A new strain supposedly comes out and 'boom' you have to get your next shot, in between the boosters that are mandated.... his women makes out like people are selfish, they poor and uneducated. Morality does not always factor into social standing and breeding. People are not dumb. People intuitively and instinctively understand that despite the obvious threats and risk that covid represents - we will not be dictated to by careerist psychopaths. You can censor us, but our voices will be censored and our lived experience will not be muted.
Marina Hyde is a joke. Just read some of her tripe in The Guardian today. She wrote a piece entitled 'Let's not pretend the anti-mask babies would have lasted a minute in the blitz'. What follows is a photo of a man gesturing aggressively to a woman, with a mask, sitting on a bus. A day after the rules on masking had changed - she then proceeds to deliberate about how an imaginary group of mask 'refusniks' who tend to discuss and hold triumphant the spirit of the British, and how it got us through WW2. And by implication, this supposed group of ppl are not only hypocrites lacking empire-of-old like resolve but are selfish and weak, because they "cannot cope with having to take a relatively minor public health measure for the greater good". She then goes on to illustrate her omniscient knowledge of the lower classes socio-psychology but discussing how people who shop in JD Sports find wearing masks an 'outrageous imposition'. Whenever did this woman shop at JD Sports - married to a Director of the BBC Sports - maybe online perhaps? There is no critique within this establishment madam's work. This type of propaganda (because that's what it is) is taken in by educated, liberal people who read or subscribe to these types of newspapers and get taken in by it. Her Oxford English degree, and status allows this woman a considerable platform in which to make rhetorical flourishes that may as well add up to a splattered Pollock-esque shit stain on a paint-by-number canvas.
