Buk takes a lot from Celine, interestingly both Buk and Kerouac considered Celine to be the greatest modern writer. They took it in different directions though. I recall Buk said that his and Kerouac's styles, although similar, pointed towards different ends. Kerouac was racing across America to find some sort of spiritual enlightenment and great beauty, whereas Buk just kept moving because everything was ugly. In this sense Buk is really a disciple of Celine.
my only disappointment is that the guy is a Yank and not from down here. perhaps there's something to them after all. a few of em anyway. seriously the funniest guy on there right now. if something is just funny thats great, but if it's messed up and funny at the same time, its almost always gonna make me laugh harder. of course if it something messed up and NOT funny, its a real crash. but the Mutant has a great batting average. i salute him.

It's such a great talent to be as consistently humorous as Mutant is. I think alot of us, most of us, can occasionally tap into the ability to be humorous like this from time to time. I know that some of the moments I enjoy most with other people are when I've tapped into it briefly. But to do it consistently, to maintain the kind of relaxed frame of mind that it requires, isn't easy to do, and can't really be learned or forced through concentration like other skills. It's a constitutional thing.
Agreed. The Mutant possesses the mind of a stand-up comic. In fact one question that I meant to ask but did not have time to ask was whether he does stand up. I mentioned this in the interview, but sometimes the Twitter Timeline is filled with hot takes on "the latest thing" and everyone's putting out their best one liners. Some occasionally hit the mark but no one rings the bell as consistently and as well as The Howling Mutant.
besides his innate or cultivated ability, people that say just things that THEY think are funny are very often better at it than people that say things that they think the "audience" will think are funny. i like when people can barely contain themselves from laughing at their own jokes, and i imagine the mutant chuckling at his phone the moments leading up to hitting send tweet. it makes it better.

It isn't true that men can sleep with any number of women and retain fidelity. I know so many men who ruined themselves for marriage by sleeping around. Warrior men. It doesn't matter, licentiousness directly correlates for both males and females into inability to maintain fidelity. When this guy was alive we had fights over this.
